Hope you guys don't mind the large pics (sorry, dudes with netbooks) but I figured most of you are anal like me about details especially when the majority doesn't live near places that carry RRL.

Maybe I'm crazy, but isn't it the very buttons that make a henley a henley?
Yeah, pretty sure you're right but making the button/no button distinction probably makes things a bit easier for the uninitiated. Also, for the price I think they really compete with W+H in terms of being the it sweatshirt/henley.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think the "no button henleys" look pretty fantastic, but they're not exactly henleys [IMG]

The rrl officer chinos state, on the inside, "wear as long as possible without washing, wash only when neccessary to retain original color."

Really? Has anyone treated their chinos like raw denim?

Mine are so wrinkled out of the box, I think I need to wash them just so I can press the wrinkles out.

I've washed mine pretty consistently, but they're still showing signs of wear. It's a pretty lightweight chino cotton and I don't know if the construction is really as sturdy as that label would have you believe. I definitely wouldn't trust its holding up to prolonged filth and abuse like japanese denim. I tried on those selvage chinos at AmRag in LA. They're certainly beatiful and their hyperstarched crispness lends them a certain military authenticity, but I'd want to know from where they source that selvage cotton before forking over $360 (!!!) for them, because they're still 'made in China' just like their typical officer's chinos.

How do the RRL chinos size? TTS? Should I size like a pair of jeans? There shouldn't be any difference between normal and selvage versions right?

Size down eh? Well grund, you took Skulls in a 32 right? While I wear a 33. So sounds like I should go 33 in these too. Thanks to you too Crakaveli for the advice.

Good thinking. You may need a 27.
