I find some Ralph pants it large in the waist for the size. Are the Officer's Chinos TTS? They look kind of slim and low rise
The Officer's Chino is vanity-sized in the waist by two sizes. They are fairly slim, although RRL used to have a Slim Fit chino which was more so. I think the rise would be considered medium.

has anyone noticed items selling out faster than usual? not just from the ralph website but from all retailers. I'm trying to track down the striped twill pants and it looks like they're already sold out everywhere in my size

Yes. Seems like it’s been that way for a while though.

I've noticed that too. I think they lowered production numbers and jacked up the price as per that press release a few years back. I remember some SA at one of the stores told me the reason behind that was because they wanted to clean up Ralph's image, as a lot of criminals were photographed wearing the Polo Pony and Ralph branded stuff. But for RRL, I think they're more careful with the designs they put out and control how much of each is made. You can kinda tell now which of the things that won't make it to sale haha

That's what's left on the EU website

I also wonder if there are not several production batches for some reason :
- last summer I had the bad luck to notice the light blue / turquoise LE jeans were already sold out in my size in EU / US so I bought them in the shorter length on the EU site, after asking Paris store if there would be more stock and been told no, only to find out they poped on the US website in my size around 6-8 weeks later...You would assume a LE production is shipped in one batch but apparently no...
- this winter I also "monitored" the "Carrhart" chore coat stock and it basically changed every day with sizes being sold out and back in stock all the time.

That being said, I am more cautious of not waiting if I want a particular pants as it is obvious they have less piece / size than a shirt for exemple, since there are way more sizes options.

I suspect that that some pieces are made in small batches and go quickly, while others they may make more than one batch, or even hold inventory back. For example, I noticed that the FW Suede-Trim Cotton-Blend Zip Cardigan sold out in every size after the sale hit, but when I check now it is available in all sizes except xs. So did they make more, or were they playing around with the inventory? Or maybe they asked retail stores to send them to the warehouse?

But for other items, like the Indigo Striped Double-Faced Workshirt, most sizes sold out quickly and even retailers like Nordstrom sold out way before sales. I picked it up at retail knowing I may not find it at all once sales hit. Same thing last summer with the Indigo Plaid Linen Field Short. I never even saw them available online. They were listed with all sizes striked out before the production run was even finished and the only reason I was able to get a pair was by calling WB and having them shipped directly to me. Even they only had a few pairs.

I think it's a combination of popularity and much tighter inventory control. Last fall/winter western theme stuff went pretty fast. Pieces like the brown denim fleece collar jacket and the Carhartt lookalike chore coat went fast. Even items from the fall beach went fast like the navy oilskin parka and the moleskin pea coat.

@alex99 funny you mention that indigo striped double face workshirt and Nordstrom. I just picked one up on sale from there this week. It was the last one.

Seems like even a lot of the Polo stuff has tighter inventory now too. Talking to an SA a while ago he was telling me those Polo varsity jackets went super fast.

BTW, sale stuff is gone now.
