Hello gentlemen!

Been reading this forum for a long time on and off, registered recently and this is my first post in hope to get sone advice.
Because of the discussion we've had in the previous two pages, when I first saw this new name and read his greeting and the first line of his message, I thought right away, "Holy crap, it's someone from RL introducing themselves!" Seriously, my heart skipped a beat!🤣
(Sorry @Luis Cypher, it has to do with recent posts! And sorry I have no ideas about your problem with your belt!)

Edit: Welcome to the group; it's good to have you here!

What do you guys reckon of those leather jackets that have polyester filling and lining? Does it affect your willingness to buy them?

I don't mind if there's poly in the ribbed cuffs etc. But polyester filling in a jacket makes me wonder whether over time it'll pick up an odor that can't be eliminated by dry cleaning, given how notorious poly is for holding on to odors. Particularly if I intend to own the jacket for a long time.

I honestly hate polyester in clothing. All of Ralph's fleece is a poly-cotton blend. I opt for natural fibers at every turn because the benefits outweigh the cons for me. The inside of Ralph's fleeces feel like plastic insulation and just doesn't sit right on my skin.

That being said... some pieces are too gorgeous to pass up because of the polyester. I ordered that striped double-cloth workshirt mentioned here a few times (still hasn't shipped, might be cancelled) despite it having polyester in it. I guess I'm just saying to not be too dogmatic. Life's more serious than the polyester in our clothing. Or maybe it's not. I don't know. I avoid it until I can't is what I'm saying haha

RRL has done stuff like this too though. They've done some native American painting on leathers, quite a bit of embroidery on the backs of shirts and trucker jackets, and I remember just a few years ago there was a really great hand knit sweater, but it had ducks on the back. Oh well, it's not my favorite, but I don't think it's terrible.

I really love that sweater, and I would even more so without the ducks, but that's just personal preference. I was mainly wondering what you thought was so bad about the Polo leather. It couldn't be the ducks, so it's the other graphics. Like I said, it's not my favorite either, but don't you think RRL has done quite a bit in that same aesthetic?

I think my main problem with it is it's printed and not stitched. Of course I don't know how difficult it is to stitch suede although that goat suede is pretty soft.
