Those wool officer chinos are sweet! Not sure about the boots though, I mean they're almost 2000 USD? Would rather pickup Red Wings and buy a new tv or something.

yeah I agree, $2000 is absurd. I ended up paying $357 before taxes

Same here, with the other issue being that I have an overload of chambray and work shirts at the moment (including a ridiculous Spellbound denim shirt I just bought). RRL sure does tempt you to buy things you already have or don't need, don't they?

100% agree. Ebay has been pretty good on RRL lately. Also, I have a pair of these (bought off ebay a while ago). These are kind of officer's pants in wool.

how does these guys fit, true to size or down size 2 just like the jeans (i.e. true waist 30 would buy tag 28)

Size down 1 seems about right; i.e. 33 tagged = 34 waist. These are wool, so don't stretch like jeans or the selvedge officers chinos do. I think the consensus on the selvedge officers chinos was to go down 2 from waist to tagged.

Those wool officers looks pretty good, I hope to find a 34w pair.
Canyon boots are very nice, and reasonable priced can be a very good purchase, but they are too Red-wingesque for my taste. I mean, having several pairs of RWs I see no point buying those RRL version.

ahhhh maybe it was the photo rakuten used, bc it looked lighter in their photos compared to yours. in your shots, the brown is darker, and looks much better!

I have to amend what I just said about these. I went back and measured mine, which are tagged 34. They measure about 35 when flat, with the waist band not aligned; i.e.: back rise is a little higher than the front. But with the waist aligned, they measure out to 36. These feel a little big on me, but not overly so; I'm not sure whether I should go down a size or not. So, I think the posted measurement for that pair on ebay may be non-aligned.

Having said all that, I had a pair of the selvedge officers's chinos (LE, I believe) that were tagged 34 and that were huge on me. And that was brand new, before stretch. Maybe it's the wool that feels clingier, or more lining inside the wool ones?

i also own the wool officer looking trousers. i bought them off a member here, i think it was dave_sfu

do you think they have a hint of green/olive in them?

anyway they fit similar to the office chinos. i took a 28 in both. id say my officers have stretched a ton and that these wools were a tad larger in the waist then the chinos were when i first got them. so maybe they are same now or chinos are slightly bigger cuz of stretch. i am hoping the wools wont stretch too much with wear
