Got the jacket, hard to make it color accurate but it’s definitely darker than this, really like the fabric

It’s more of a sweater jacket, not a tailor//sportscoat jacket, and to my annoyance, no inner chest pocket

Pants is also RRL, some indigo cord pants from many many years ago

Here is something I noticed about a month ago. Do a “Find In Store” search for any RRL item on the RL website, then plug in zip code 10001 (midtown NYC) and 300 mile radius. Okay, RRL W’Bway, RRL East Hampton, and the Madison Ave Mansion all come up …. even Ralph Lauren Baby comes up … but RRL Williamsburg Brooklyn never comes up. It used to come up, but not anymore. It doesn’t even come up “Out of Stock” so it can’t be because they are out of the size. That’s odd.
Maybe Clee already mentioned, but the tiny RRL section on the 3rd Floor of the Mansion was “temporarily” moved into the adjacent Polo section while Ralph renovates a much larger expanded RRL shop on the 4th Floor. Curious maybe.
I looked up when the Brooklyn RRL was first opened and it was in October 2015. You don’t say.
Now there are no fixed price tags in NYC commercial real estate so everything is negotiable. But from my experience, most commercial RE leases usually have an initial 10 year term and then there are one or more 5 year renewal options with substantial rent increases for the next term. The tenant can A) simply renew the lease, B) try to renegotiate the new terms or C) vacate the space. Ha, isn’t NYC commercial RE wacky and wonderful?
So you say the RRL store opened in October 2015 and this is January 2025. Landlords also give a tenant like 90 to 120 days “free time” so the tenant can customize what is called in the industry the “vanilla box”. Now let me see if I have this straight. July, August, September …. October ….. so if I was the landlord I would have already reached out to my tenant to check if the commercial lease is going to be renewed. Hmm … and if I was negotiating for Ralph I would already know if the RRL store is staying. “Hello, is anybody home?”
And why is only one of seven RRL brick and mortar stores in the US not in the “Find In Store” website search function again? Oh yeah, we don’t know. But could it be that those trend setting, cosplaying, lumberjack lovin’ hipsters in Williamsburg aren’t buying $1,400 belted cardigans? But I see them shopping all the time in the many vintage stores in the neighborhood. I wonder?
I just noticed this last week when I was looking to buy a sale item. (I'm in Chicago but I often work with a SA in the W. B'way store to locate and buy stuff.) I found it strange but didn't think to post it here. Also, that SA I work with at W. B'way used to work at the Brooklyn store but got transferred for some reason. I didn't ask him why.
I had some dialogue with my W. B'way SA today. He said the Brooklyn store is doing fine. The lease is about to expire, but business is good. Who knows whether they'll renegotiate the space or relocate.

I have the PRL Whitman chinos. Anyone know how the RRL field chino compares in terms of fit? Is more/less baggy through the leg? Should I take the same size in the field chino as the Whitman?

Also, as someone outside the US, is there a way I can view the US RL.com website without it redirecting to my local RL website?

I think the field chino will be slightly less baggy and more of a straight fit. Since they're not pleated they won't balloon out as much. They're still a pretty generous fit.

Maybe try using a vpn?

Just enter the fully written out URL of RL.com in a browser tab, after it has redirected to your regional RL website, enter the fully written out URL of RL.com in that same browser tab in which the redirection had previously taken place, the second time it should remain on RL.com, this should remain so during the remainder of the browser session, but only as long as you remain in the same tab.

I'm in Europe and for me it works like this: I click on the US-link and it redirects me to my local RL landing page, then I click on the US-link (or basically any link that would redirect to a local page) again and then it works. (Chrome on Mac)
