Cultizm seems to have received some additional stock on some RRL items (at least it seems so for jeans and some western shirts that were previously almost sold out). The 25% off offer had been mentioned earlier by Kurdo a couple of days ago, but might be worth mentioning a second time considering the recent availability of more sizes.

Just grabbed a pair of Hillsview straights myself :)

I guess superheavy jeans are for the raw denim enthusiasts and that’s why they’re only available in raw but part of me wonders what would happen if I bought a pair and washed it like 20 times before wearing.
On a similar sidenote: I wish heavy and superheavy jeans were available in wider cuts. I think they’d be a lot more comfortable that way, raw or otherwise.

Maybe the RL webstore only has inventory of the old version in your size. To get the newer tinted version, maybe you have to get them from an RRL shop or from another retailer like you did from Cultizm.
Agreed. I would buy elsewhere if anyone carried once washed in 30x34. I haven't found them in a year of searching. They were also out of stock at Ralph's; I bought these because I got a back in stock email. They shipped this morning--hopefully they inspected them for the tint?

Speaking of the Hillsview straights from Cultizm @michaelvl I almost bought those but decided for $20 more I could get the once washed (which I prefer) from Ralph. And here we are. 😂

I wonder if someone in Ralph's Raiders of the Lost Ark like warehouse stumbled upon a lost and forgotten carton of once wash straight fits because it's insane that they're selling inventory from 7 years ago.

I looked at the date codes for my once wash low straights with yellowish tinge purchased in 2023 and they were produced in late 2020. The vintage fit once washed without the yellowish tinge purchased last year were produced in 2023.

Yep, I think it's this exactly. Not optimistic for the new pair. We'll see. I'll be sad if I missed out on the yellow tint run because they switched back to the old style.

In happier news, I picked these up on eBay for a steal! My wife has been begging me to buy shorts for years. I don't own a single pair, so I wanted something fun.

They even came with a bonus peso in the pocket.

Right, how bizarre. You'd think if they suddenly became back-in-stock, it would be with new product; but these were made in 2017. Where did the stock come from?!

still trying to figure stuff like this out --

1737230536628.png

For Ralph Lauren, the RRL (Double RL) label, launched in 1993, does not directly tie to the year 1903. However, the RRL brand draws heavily from themes of early 20th-century Americana, particularly the rugged lifestyle of the American West and workwear traditions.

Potential Connection to 1903:

  • RRL Inspiration: The RRL label takes its name from Ralph Lauren's Colorado ranch, Double RL, and its designs evoke vintage Americana styles from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. While not explicitly tied to 1903, the era serves as a thematic backdrop for the brand's aesthetic, celebrating durable workwear, denim, and military-inspired apparel.
  • Historical Context:
    • The year 1903 aligns with the rise of denim as a staple for American laborers and the burgeoning popularity of rugged, functional clothing—key influences on the RRL brand.
    • This period also saw the early development of iconic American clothing companies like Levi’s and Carhartt, whose heritage directly inspires RRL’s designs.

In Summary:

While 1903 is not specifically referenced by Ralph Lauren's RRL label, the era's aesthetic and cultural significance align closely with the brand's dedication to vintage, rugged Americana style. The label’s ethos pays homage to this pivotal time in American history.

See underlined above. Which jean was it, Vintage Fit or Low Straight? The reason I want to know is I'm wondering if there is a new production run of Low Straights done without the tint.
