Weirdly a bunch of those styles have been popping up on eBay lately. Someone must have found the Ali express stock to flip

Indeed, but there're also a lot of RRL items on eBay like belts and chinos being offered for sale directly from Hong Kong or from China that I suspect to be imitation. Take care when buying off auction sites!

It could be a Fuggazy, something similar is available on Aliexpress, checkout the following link
I wonder how the Snake Oil guy feels knowing he's being used to hawk that jacket. The stitching and buttons look like garbage in the Vinted listing compared to the Ali photos. Tragic.

In times like these I always remember Ralph's famous saying: "Mars universe respect the one and only Double RL."

Exactly - we can't just gloss over the fact that the packaging says "MARS UNIVERSE"! Is that not a dead giveaway?! (I actually found it hilarious, which is why I initially posted it!)

That other guy is a RRL manager in London.

I dont want to be a hater but why does 50% of menswear shops have provisions in the name?
Iron shop provisions, stag provisions, snakeoil provisions. give me a break.

I am not a 1850s coal miner heading out west. Thanks.

Second, I know they use the store employees but these guys are the worst models. The snakeoil guy is a tiny hipster and the iron shop guy is extremely large and short. Just hire some regular sized person to take your photos and provide some real measurements. Geez

Ok rant over.

I think that's just it: it's a historical nod to those old shops and the clothes sold are inspired or look to replicate a bygone era. Same with Polo when they use "Dry Goods" and sometimes "Sundries" on some of their labels.
