My aged (near-40) wisdom to impart is that it is a fool's errand to buy shoes with the assumption they'll stretch. (Good) insoles will settle some as you wear them and some leather does stretch – to a limit. But these factors will only serve your desired outcome 2% of the time. The other 98% you will realize too late that the shoes are too small.

Add to this the bit of knowledge that feet flatten out, and therefore grow larger, the older you get and/or as you gain weight.

In total, the best answer is always to size comfortably from the start, if not slightly large.
Thank you for the advice!

I actually ordered size 44EU (11 US) of the exact same pair last year when it was 50% off on a US webshop, but gave up on them when my leather chelseas turned out too large. Never returned the shoes because I am in the Netherlands and the return shipping cost + hassle was simply not worth the refund.

I just compared the size 44 with insoles to the 43EU (10US) without, and turns out, the 44 with insoles fits much better. I think the insoles turn them into a 43.5, which seems to be my ideal shoe size.

Why didn't I try this before ordering the size 43 @ full price nearly a year later? No clue.

Saved myself some money... gone tomorrow, when the sale goes live 😁

any ideas where I could get the Slim Fit Fatigue Pants in size 4 from Japan?
Unfortunately Reggieshop is sold out.
The Bureau Belfast carries them, but you are too late in the season and will likely need to wait for a re-stock.

yea and kind annoying you can only do exchange once, if you do another time you need to call them (so I can still get the 40% off)

Withered Fig has the slims in 4

But I suspect he's looking for a shop in Japan where the cost a lot less.

Any experience with this one? It looks a little scratchy / oversized - neither of which I want.

It’s probably my second favorite shirt this season after the brown bear overshirt. It’s kind of boxy but not too oversized. Fabric looks like burlap but feels soft.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
