I'm loving this whole collection, but these are some of my favorite pieces.

Grizzly - really well constructed. Buttons are very sturdy - feel like the designers may have learned their lesson from the sherpa trucker jacket last season. Those buttons were terrible. Fit is classic and true to size.

Cardigan - beautifully woven sweater that's a little more fitted than other styles. If you intend on layering with this piece, you may want to size up. The Scottish wool is amazing!

Sweater / Over Shirt - such an underrated piece in the collection. The color looks a little muted compared to the catalog and online images, but it's a really handsome garment that's very well constructed and the fabric is much softer than I expected. The buckle back jeans (bottom left) are also amazing!

Puffer Vest - love the color combination. The leather compliments the washed out teal very well - and it's only going to get better with age. Really glad to see that this has become a more consistent piece in fall/winter collections. Rocky Mountain Featherbed and Sugar Cane use to be the only resources for pieces like these. FYI, this year's vest runs a little smaller compared to a similar navy/suede style I have from a couple years ago.

Fringed Newsboy Jacket - I couldn't wait to check this piece out when it first appeared in the catalog. Unfortunately, it's pretty much identical to last year's jacket with the embroidery on the shoulder yoke and sleeves. It's a"newsboy" style jacket we've seen in a few different collections - nothing special. Unlike last year's piece, this leather feels more supple and it doesn't smell like it was treated with wax or a chemical. Would have liked to see this in a slightly longer buttoned car coat style with fringes on the sleeves.

A few more...

Barn / Chore Jacket - love this jacket! Would have liked to see some button flaps on the waist pockets, corduroy on the sleeves, or perhaps a slightly thicker quilted liner - but this is a really handsome jacket. The fabric is really nice. Had one of my big Rhodesian Ridgebacks jump on me when I came home last night and not a blemish.

Buffalo Plaid Overshirt - another really nice piece! Thought this might feel like a brillo pad, but the fabric is soft and it isn't as itchy as I thought it might be. Great for the fall. Great for the holiday season. Classic fit. Classic style.

Leather Yoke Jacket - another one of my favorites from this year's collection. Can't stress how handsome this jacket is in person. The pigment coated nylon actually looks like a distressed leather. Not sure how warm it's going to be. Even thought it's a down alternative - a fill rating for warmth would be nice.

my fave.jpg

Indigo Lined Over Shirt - handsome shirt, but it's a little stiff and the sizing is right in between the fitted (western) and classic styles. The fabric is pretty stiff - perhaps with time it will soften a little, but it feels like burlap.

Brown Western Denim Jacket - another standout from this year's collection. I have a suede rancher style with a shearling collar that's almost identical, but this piece was like 1/5 the cost of that jacket and if it gets wet in the rain - no biggie. Not really a fan of the scalloped side pocket, which feels more ornamental than functional. Love the weight and durability of this garment.

I really, really wanted to love this overshirt, but was just a little too blocky, boxy and oversized. Great job capturing the color and texture, which were both why I was disappointed it didn't work for me

Some really nicely put together RRL outfits! Just out of curiosity, did you actually kop all this stuff for yourself to wear or is there something else going on?

I completely agree. I tried this on in-store and loved the way it looked but it didn't feel as great as I had hoped. Burlap is a good description. It also ran a bit more fitted than I was expecting.

Funny, I like the fabric for the rough but soft texture. Also I went with L which is what I usually get for slightly oversized shirts.

Thanks! That's probably why it doesn't appear to be buttoned in any of the photoshoots I've seen it featured in. FYI, Imogene + Willie has a really nice blanket stripe over shirt this season that's a little closer to what I was hoping for.
