The buttons are pretty easy to replace as they're just held on with a strip of leather.

The buttons are actual buffalo/indian head nickels pounded/pressed with a loop soldered on the back. Those loops are the weak point. For some reason, replacement buttons with the indian head side out are easier to find than ones using the buffalo, like the originals. So far I've had to replace 4 of the original buttons. At this point I've got 6 spare indian head buttons ready to go which is enough to replace the remaining originals assuming none of the replacements fail.

Nice that equivalent/identical replacement buttons are available, which is not always the case for many (RRL) pieces. Having those spare buttons, I'd think the jacket shall remain great and original looking for many decades to come and shall only get nicer with age as the patina develops further with use.

I received the brown denim jackets today. Both fit well, but I like the way the small fits better. More of a "tailored". Downside is that layering will be harder, unless the jacket stretches a bit with time. Will try to take a pic one of these days.

As for the quality of the jacket ; it is amazing. Heavy weight, sturdy denim. Beautifully distressed. Comfortable lining. The (metal) buttons are a bit difficult to close though, mainly because of denim thickness. But will wear it unbuttoned so that's not an issue for me personally.

I think you're getting good value for the price you pay. Definitely worth the price tag, as opposed some of those shirts and sweaters that go for $400, which I believe are extremely overvalued.

First item of the season, but I have a feeling it will be my most favourite. Definitely an outerwear "grail". I think I'll also get the navy oilcloth and call it a day as far as jackets go.

Hey Kurdo, can you say something about the length of the jacket? Can you wear a workshirt untucked without it protruding (too much) under it? Or do you really need to tuck ?

Didn't expect this one to be 500+ euro, although it seems like a thicker or better quality product than the work shirts, given the layering options.

The shirt, together with the canvas jacket and the green wool vest will be on my wishlist.

For me, the blue indigo, canvas jacket (expected it to be more expensive), and the patchwork. Will wait for a sale though, not in a hurry :]

Has anyone had any luck altering (shortening) this type of sleeve? Seems more complicated than usual.

got the black officer chino from this season, it's definitely a bit slimmer than say a 2010 version I got (that one I got is also selvedged and like 11oz?), I can still wear 28 but pocket would unbelievable tight to put anything in so went for 29 instead.
