I've been wearing shrink to fit 501s since I was a kid (have on a pair of LVCs as I type this) when I started getting in to the raw selvedge thing it was always to emulate how cool my grandads 501 were. I asked grandma about what she did, after reading about tub soaking and wearing wet and all that stuff and she looked at me like I was drunk. she said she washed his jeans before he wore them to get the shrink out and washed them subsequently when they were in the laundry basket.
hes still rocking better fades than RRL puts out.

lol, the universe seems to conspire with the elements around me to ensure that anytime I wear white anything, a dark stain finds its way to the most conspicuous spot imaginable. Typically coffee, but sometimes red Monster energy, sometimes salsa, other times, cola even though I drink cola once or twice a year. Wear 90 days indeed.
I've found that Puracy stain remover does a good job on organic stains. It's enzyme based. I also use Oxiclean Revive which is a non-bleach detergent for white clothing.

Sorry if this sounds like a commercial, but they really do work.

This exactly. I have a hard time believing people pre-internet put up with all the modern day contrivance built up by the likes of APC and Levis around unsanforized raw denim; all of that seems like it was invented to build an aura of mystique around a premium product.

I remember hearing about the tub soaking thing for STF 501s long before the internet.

Ditto, but I don't know anybody who ever actually did that (and I also vaguely remember that commercial @michaelvl posted).

My mom would routinely buy me and my older brothers a new pair of Levis 501s at the start of each school year and my dad would go through a pair or two a year working on the farm and in a factory and nobody ever got into the tub with their jeans on. We probably would have been run out of the house for dripping water everywhere when we got out.

I remember my sister using the tub to soak/shrink but not while wearing. Our mom yelled at her due to the blue tinge to the tub afterwards.

I did not sit in a tub of cold water to achieve this fit

Looks good, good length too. One thing that has always bothered me about most RRL shirts is length is a little long for wearing untucked, but the flannels tend to be, well, not so long. I can't tell, snaps or buttons?

Snaps.
