1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I'll second this. In addition to whatever notions of quality or workmanship (which can both be rather subjective), RRL charges a premium for the aesthetic - rugged workwear and western-wear - the concept - faithfully recreating vintage garments - and, let's face it, the brand name; even if the larger RL brand has been diluted by a swarm of embroidered ponies at malls the world over, RRL has a brand image totally separate from the ponies and popped collars, and the price tag reflects it.

Try checking the Rakuten global site. It's a little risky, since you won't be able to return them as easily (if at all) and you might get hit with customs charges. With the relatively weak yen, however, the prices are way lower than stateside (although IDK about sub-$200 for some of the more popular and / or souped-up models).

And how about Apple. They run under a similar business plan and never discount.

RRL produces much more product than all of the above companies combined and distribute world wide. You can't source, manufacture, market and distribute in those numbers and never have issues. To run an organization of that scale takes enormous resources. I think RL & Co. are doing just fine. Might be pricy but it costs much more to do this. The archives, warehouses, materials sourcing and acquisition alone are more than these brands yearly gross sales all together.

i have a closet full of rrl

outside of their selvedge trousers and denim (which i mostly buy with discount), i dont buy anything from rrl at full retail. everything goes on sale eventually. sometimes you miss out if your a smaller size like myself but its not the end of the world. invariably jcrew W&B, polo rl, d&s or CM or another niche brand like apolis or eg will come out with something identical or similar enough for the aesthetic

i love everything rrl but your paying for the name just like you would for buying a XYZ luxury brand wallet or bag

Yes..love the shirt as well.is that the denim or the twill fabric one...I have the twill version (in "polo black")...love it as well as it is "light" fabric (I have to get the sleeves shortened about an inch - though) I like the trim fit of it...

    Just FYI.

The second half of the spring collection is going on sale the 19th for 40% off. In store at least.
Including things like the Baker Jacket and Denim Chore Coat.

The first set of stuff to go on sale is getting a 30% kicker.

I want like 3 sweaters but its kind of hard for me to justify the purchase. it's already 85 degrees where I'm at with temperature expecting to climb in the upcoming months.

WTF! I gotta stay off this thread. Bad influence and bad for my bank account. It's all good though, RRL rules :slayer: I have my eye on the Baker jacket, camo-print cotton tee, among a few other things.

There's a bunch of new stuff on sale at ralphlauren.com/earlyaccess.
DON'T click on the link since the styfo referral kills it.
Just copy and paste the address.
