You still don't understand how this works.

SF doesn't use Shopstyle to generate revenue, or else every damn link posted on this forum would redirect through Shopstyle, which it does not. SF scripts are hidden and they are part of a larger affiliate program, as are most fashion blogs or forums. Only when you have a Shopstyle account and post links generated by Shopstyle do you receive revenue, this has nothing to do with SF.

I thought that post was funny, because it read exactly like spam "hey check this out guys *big block of text* my next purchase *click here*" and then redirected through a 3rd party affiliate link.

You were wrong. Ok? Let's not drag this out any further. I was just sharing something that I thought was "state of the art" RRL. Those jeans were amazing to look at in person.

Please try to keep your suspicions and anger in check. You do make some valuable contributions to this forum...

Why does your link have a Shopstyle Affiliate ID?

Well I guess I just gave you .45 cents.

We run Viglinks to capture affiliate money. That said, no private member is authorized to post outside affliate links for their own monetary gain, for obvious reasons That's essentially stealing from Styleforum. That was not one of our links, so I've edited that most accordingly.

Without commenting on the specifics of this case, this is true. We do not use Shopstyle. The larger affiliate program we use is Viglinks, which is one of the bigger players in the game. The outward bound links are automatically routed through our account, and for those sites for whom we have affiliate accounts, our id is attached to the cookies that your computer gets. This is all opaque to the user. You should just see a plain link.

I'm not going to comment further, except to say that all unauthorized use of Styleforum for personal financial gain is prohibited.

http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11912488&cp=11588650.12145641&ab=view100-158&view=99&pg=2&parentPage=family

What collection is this from, and how can you even tell, without looking at the tag? I have lots of RRL stuff, and except for the ICON stuff, with the ICN code, I can never figure that stuff out. Comtemplating pulling the trigger on this if it doesn't go on sale soon.

When I disable the adblocking stuff I have running and capture headers, I see the link go to vglinks before redirecting to shopstyle.

My link was copied directly from the Ralph Lauren website and pasted directly into my post. Something is fishy. Maybe my browser (Chrome) is the culprit. Don't know enough about this stuff to comment or to fix the problem... Any ideas?

It's possible that you just have a wierd cookie on your browser. It happens. There are any number of non-nefarious explanations.

Cheers,

Fok.

Can someone explain the difference between the RRL Officer Rigid chino and the regular RRL Officer Chinos? I really like the look/fit of these: http://www.contextclothing.com/item.php?id=2085 , but hate that khaki color. Olive, faded black or charcoal, or navy would be great options, but the ones on their website look exceptionally wrinkly.

They are all the same fit, selvedge fabric is a better quality fabric and molds more to the wearer's body. The standard ones are prewashed so they look wrinkly and some are distressed

There's pictures of it being built on Instagram if you type #RRL in the hashtag search.
