Demico Rogers - Dec 11th: This morning was sparring with Rashad Evans and Shane Carwin. Then afternoon was Jiu-jitsu with Amal Easton and Big Josh. Then this evening was wrestling practice with GSP, Rashad, Nate Marquardt and coach Mike Vanarsdale. Hell of a day! pics coming soon.

D told me he has a fight in the works, but he can't talk much about it yet. If the contract gets worked out, should be announced in a few weeks.

Speaking of fighting again, it looks like Ortiz vs. Liddell part 3 is in the works.

What's amazing here is how big GSP looks to be. I mean, Rashad fights at 205, and Nate fights at a very big 185. And Demico is not a small guy either. But GSP is not *that* much smaller. I'm interested in Demico's impressions of GSP's wrestling.

From looking at that pic, I'm betting GSP is walking around at near 190-200lbs Either that or his bones are hollow like a birds. Demico looks trimmed down a bit, which would put him around 240 or so for reference. Maybe Georges is standing on his tippy toes.

Are all these guys members of team Jackson?

If so, that would make at least 4 HW startups with McSweeney, unless some of these guys are planning to drop down (but that would place them in competition with Rashad)?

How does a single team training fighters of the same weight class at competency levels that would ultimately place them against one another manage that?

Well remember that officially, none of these guys are in the UFC right now. Maybe some of them will end up there, maybe some will end up at Strikeforce, maybe some will end up somewhere else. Until a time comes where they have to face each other, they are going to train with the best people available at their weight class, the greatest concentration of talent so to speak.

Remember, the biggest issue with HW's like this is training against people who will tax you. There aren't that many big, fast, powerful, agile, dudes out there to train with. Good situation all around if you ask me.

Nate Marquardt (sp? Can never spell his name) on the far right (the littlest dude) is actually a top middleweight in the UFC. He recently KTFO Demian Maia, which I think puts him in line to get beat up by Anderson Silva again. Greg Jackson trains a lot of guys, and not all of them fight out of his camp, officially. The best example is probably GSP, who trains out of Montreal with his own team, but also moves around a lot to get different looks. The young blond dude one the far left fights out of Travis Lutter's camp, or at least, they said he did when he was in the Ultimate Figher House.
