Its great if you don't go when its supercrowded or wait too long.... never on the weekends, its a madhouse!

i like the tough bread, there's so much wet ingredient on the sandwhiches the bread holds it all together nicely.

Had The Golden State last night. Burger was very tasty, but not particularly interesting. Definitely going to go back for the lamb burger.

That's how I feel about Phillipe's. I sometimes wonder if I'm the only person in LA who isn't into it.

I actually love Phillipe's. Pork with blue cheese double dipped...spicy mustard. Heaven on a bun.

But I appreciate that we each have a hyped place we just don't get.

Anyway, I got the #19 at Langer's and it was totally meh to me. I've enjoyed pastrami more at Greenblatts and Canter's - not that I think either is that amazing. Sure I'd give Langer's another go if someone forced it on me, who knows, it might be better the second time around. I wanted it to be everything it wasn't.

Canter's.... Canter's.... You could walk into any ol' deli, literally anywhere and get pastrami that's just as good.

fuck taco asylum is all i gotta say. such a waste. The premium ban mi is better bang for buck if eating in the camp.

Also, going on a "inspiration" trip to LA/OC with a work group next week.
Any suggestions other than the obvious retail spots?
got the Lab, fairfax, abbot, craft,OC,unionmade type stuff, but looking for a protip or 2.
Sucks being a tourist in the town you left.

    Retail, all you need is:
La Brea - Union, American Rag, SelfEdge.
    Beverly - Mr. Freedom.
    3rd Street - South Willard
Fairfax is all Hypebeast but if you're interested in that hit it up. Golden State is a great burger place on Fairfax across the street from Canter's that a lot of people on here including myself love (they also sell Scoops ice cream there).
La Cienega - OC, Craft, Baxter Finley for haircuts...
Santa Monica - Brentwood Country Mart for Monocle and Unionmade Goods...
Abbot Kinney - Milkmade and Steven Alan Annex.
SilverLake - Mohawk General Store, DriftWood, some good food options around there as well.
    Am I missing anything there?

Good list. I'd add Confederacy in Los Feliz, maybe RRL on Melrose. I actually like the Fred Segal in Santa Monica, not sure if that's worth adding to your SM list, but otherwise, pretty good list.
