Bottega Louie is a garbage of a restaurant and doesn't deserve the reputation they get on Yelp. The food their is mediocre at best. Their pasta is incredibly sloppy and it isn't even al dente for goodness sakes. The pork chop, like you said was boring. The pizzas are okay but there a plenty of other places that offer more spectacular pies than Bottega. Service is lousy; I waited 20 mins for a pizza one time and I didn't even get an apology. I gave this place 3 chances but was disappointed each time.

You want go Italian? Angelini Osteria or Osteria Mozza are much better choices.

Got an invite for an upcoming Food Truck Festival at Santa Anita Park, on the infield. Anyone ever been? Guess they'll have a gastropub to and some performance.

Hopefully the horses don't go nuts or anything. Could get dangerous lol.

Here's a list of the trucks:

"Scheduled to participate: Border Grill, Grilled Cheese, South Philly Experience, Baby's Badass Burgers, Canters, Nana Queens, Dosa, Brian's Comfort Truck, Dogtown Dogs, Knockout Tacos, Yatta, Dante Fried Chicken, No Reservations, Takosher, Don Chow Tacos, The Sweets Truck, Chunkn' Chips, Barbies Q, Lobsta Truck, Ragin Cajun, Fresh Fries LA, Lardon, and NaanStop"

Anyone been to any of those?

This is the impression I got, I think people just enjoy the open kitchen and large ceilings. I try not to write off an entire restaurant based on one visit because sometimes people just order the wrong thing or have a bad experience, but I'll keep all this in mind.

For fans of pork chop, BLD's was great.

a lot of the salons won't trim your beard. i think rudy's will, and is cheap, but you get what you pay for. i go to gamine (right next to silverlake pho) for haircuts, and am never unhappy with the results. ask for tamara if you go (you need to call in today if you do).

When was the last time you went there? I remember asking you this a couple of years ago and you made it sound like you had all your haircut appointments already planned and scheduled at your own place 15 years in advance. Meanwhile, I plan my trips around my haircuts there. And there are two other barbers (Almon and Omar) besides Todd. Which "couple" do you know there? Punter. I think your new vegan lifestyle is affecting your memory. That aside, when I got my hair cut there two weeks ago I ran into "Snake" who'd been getting his haircut there for over 50 years. Granted, it hasn't been Todd's that entire time but still, that's some manly pedigree.

Had Earl's of Sandwich in Vegas: The Earl’s Club – Roasted Turkey, Smoked Bacon, Aged Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Roma Tomatoes & Sandwich Sauce, except replaced roasted turkey with roast beef.

Great sandwich. Meat could be better but everything had a good balance, sauce was tasty, and a whole sandwich is only $6.
