Haven't had a FO burger in at least a year.
Beer and burger mini LA meet-up in the culver city location? I'm up...

When are you here? I have just enough room below the 34-inch waist old-guy threshold to afford a beer-and-burger night . . .

I have a lot more room to grow. I live in LA, so I'm always here. CC location is better on a weekday night, weekends are packed. I'll be happy to get away from an almost married life for some beer and burgers. Maybe XxRomeoXx will join us? I know he likes that stuff. :)

Well, I think you're probably 15 years or so farther away from 50 than I am as well. CC is pretty easy for me on weekdays. Mondays and Thursdays are usually best for me for parenting reasons (old guy stuff).

I'd be happy to do it, if you don't mind hanging out with them youngings. Let's see if somebody else bites. Those burgers are good!

I may be able to join, but I've been traveling away on business about half the time, leaving again in a week.

It's not a burger spot. It's a bar that happens to serve a great burger.

Well, two bars now. I preferred the original (Santa Monica) location when it was only semi-hip.

In my limited experience, Portland certainly isn't free from hipster-thronged places overcharging for faux authenticity . . .

Not denying that, but the prevalence of cheap amazing beer, and ease of acquisition make me look back at the struggles of FO seating and awkward vibe with little nostalgia.
The burger is solid i will not dispute that fact.

Anyone have any recommendations on places to stop by to shop sunglasses? Places that stock Salt/Mykita at reasonable prices would be of interested, but anyone with a nice and interesting slection welcome.

I'm chilling in Downtown LA for next couple of days so places that aren't too insane to drive to would be great :)

Warby Parker has a stall in the Standard Downtown.
Fred Segal in Santa Monica has a small sunglasses shop that stocks Salt. Probably one in the Melrose location too
There's a Garrett Leight shop on La Brea.

Nod I hit up Selima in Brentwood and this place: http://www.yelp.com/biz/eyetailor-optical-los-angeles-2 which was great too. Awesome customer service and great selection. Haha after I finished my purchase he said yeah next time you should check our spot across the street with vintage frames. Laf, next time I guess.

PIcked up 3 pairs of salt and 1 pair of mykita.. guess I'm set for awhile :)

Can anyone recommend a good quick lunch spot between los feliz and hollywood ? beer is mandatory

Jitlada isn't super-quick but is not too bad for lunch. Excellent Thai food, and beer.
Stout Burgers and Beer on Cahuenga (in the little complex right where the Hollywood Farmers Market starts on Sundays) is supposed to be pretty good. There's an Umami Burger near there, too.
Hungry Cat on Vine is pretty good - mostly seafood.
Not sure if 101 Cafe on Hollywood Blvd has beer, but I would imagine so. Haven't been there in years.
Little Dom's in Los Feliz is excellent (I've only been for dinner, but I assume they serve lunch).
Another place I haven't been in years is Fred 62 in Los Feliz; if you aren't too put off by the hipster vibe I always thought the food was pretty good. Especially with a few cans of Boddington's.

Yucca's Hut has great tacos but no beer. Same with Burrito King. Lots of perfectly adequate Mexican places that will have beer. Mexico City in LF is OK. El Coyote is mediocre but iconic. I think Chosun Galbi has some draft beers (not sure, though - I do recall they have a full bar) and I know they're open for lunch.

Golden State of Fairfax has good food and a good beer selection and does excellent beer floats.

If you make it over to the western part of hollywood there's the fred segal on melrose (I think it's technically WeHo) for clothes-shopping.
