1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

dineLA is for amateurs. it's like valentine's day. restaurateurs hate it and it shows.

booked a Valentine's day spot partially on the basis that they aren't doing a special menu.

That is awesome. I'd much rather go there, even with a date.

Yea dineLA is a mistake. Reminds me of when people walk in with groupons and expect quality service. Just don't do it

I'm sorry, but if you offer a deal, you have no right to treat people who decided to use it worse. Nobody forced you to do it.

And a server who gives crappy service because somebody's using a Groupon is an idiot. I'm too lazy to use Groupons, but I'm somebody whose tipping level varies considerably with the service. My starting baseline for tipping would be well above the discounted price of the meal so as not to screw the server. But regardless of whether or not I was using a Groupon and similar deal, a server who acted like a dick would be cutting off his nose to spite his face.

I frequent a restaurant where we smoke our cigars and it's not uncommon for the sommelier to waive the corkage fee and a few drinks. We always make sure to take care of our waitresses and tip based on the original amount.

Agreed on that. Usually a limited menu. Although Fogo de Chao is good, its pretty much the same menu at a little bit cheaper price.

Any dineLA that you feel was pretty good?

Super random question but just got my latest DWP bill and it's more than double my normal bill. I've always been at $40-42 the past year and half and this one is $85. No new anything or special usage. Any idea what could have caused this? Misread meter? Builidng has done a bunch of maintenence past few months too but I don't see how that should be affecting my bill

edit: some searching mentions that they don't actually read meters sometimes and from the look of my bill it hasn't been read since last August :brick: What kind of utility company is this?
