the design of the bag is based off the saddleback briefecase

    dimensions: about 16"x11.5"x7.5"
    materials: cowhide w/ horsehide accents

the accent piece w/ the wing tip design kinda came about later in the development of the bag...i initially didn't plan on having that but after the straps and buckles were put on i decided it needed something else

i came up w/ the shape and idea and asked if he would be able to do the perforations w/ a hole punch and if there would be enough room in the middle for a design...he drew a design, i modified it, and then he finished it off

    the bag is amazing

i was very patient waiting for it...it was scheduled to arrive 12/23 but got lost somewhere in transit and i just picked it up at the post office on 1/6

if anyone wants to see more pics just let me know what in particular you want to see and i can snap some photos

that is so cool i might steel your design (or a similar design). i love that bag!

mail sucks sometimes but im glad you got it.

Belt finish? As in, the shape of the tip?
It's a free choice of a few different designs (I've sent out the choices in a recent update)!

    Crump,
I am wondering if you would kindly post some more photo's of your bag by Unlucky. I am interested to see the hardware between the shoulder straps and the bag, the shoulder strap itself, and the back of the bag (is there a "paper-pouch"?).

    Thanks
    SC

It was pointed out to me that some of the other leather goods makers (e.g. our own Zissou, Hollows, etc..) would like to be appreciated as well and that this is not an affiliate thread, so I opened up this thread and changed the name, so that they could be included here. Enjoy.

    Fok.

    Therein lies the rub indeed...

Leaning towards short rounded, but much like our titular hero, I'm gripped by indecision.

The perfect tip shape is indeed a difficult choice. This is what works for me, the tip shape should complement the buckle. English point (#5 in pic) nearly always works while square shape (#2) never works imo. I hope this helps image of zissou [IMG]

I think its horsehide? Scott can chime in if I'm wrong.

Here's a reference for what it looked like originally.

I've done a set of designs for the tip finish for this project which should complement clip buckles nicely.
