The bulk of the Smithsonian museums close at 5:00PM but this one is open to 7:00PM and close to some decent restaurants. Has the Portrait Gallery, Museum of American Art, American Folk Art all rolled into one! See you tomorrow!

Yeah, that's in the American History museum I think.

True story: I was on a patrol in 2006 in the hinterlands outside of Kabul headed for a remote FOB. The patrol was led by the British Army regiment that actually burned the White House down in the War of 1812. Of course every single member of the platoon felt obligated to tell me that over the course of the day!

W was still in office so I invited them back for a repeat performance...
