No ticket pocket. Why hacking pockets on a charcoal tropical weight suit?

Will does a traditional English cut that is similar to Henry Poole. My understanding is that hacking pockets (the ones that are slightly slanted) are a traditional English style characteristic. I hope I didn't screw that up.

Also, its a 9oz weight--so more of an all-season weight.

Me either! Mostly it makes me feel Old World and then I love answering the usual questions from younger dudes on why I have a weird little extra pocket.

Are hacking pockets (15 degree angle--so very slight) okay on a more formal suit in a charcoal color? To me, it seems like a sort of subtle mark of the British suit style's roots, without being too obnoxious (i.e. 45 degree hacking pockets).

Hacking pockets not formal, very Country. Neat but casual. Ticket pocket better, as @imatlas mentioned, with normal flap pockets.

Thank you for the advice, everyone. If it's not too late, I'm going to check with Will and see if I can change it to straight flap pockets. But now the question--do I add the ticket pocket? Attached is the fabric. The ticket pocket is a characteristic English style feature, right?

If you can change to straight flap pockets, get the ticket pocket! It stands out just a little bit without being trendy or anachronistic.

Yes, ticket pockets are very British and will look fine on your Birdseye fabric. I had a Paul Stuart Phineas Cole winter suit in a similar fabric. It had a ticket pocket that worked very well. Looks good if you can bring in the waist as well.

This is custom, so to let people know it's customized you should obviously get kangaroo pockets.
