Yes, based on what I'm seeing on a CPA forum, they're holding back raises, they're asking people to take a pay cut, they're letting go of people. It's just a mess. I'm glad I'm no longer in public accounting, that was hell that I do not want to go back to.
Same here. I spent 10 years in public accounting with the last 6 with KPMG and then PwC. Going back is my last resort if I ever get fired.

Hey if you guys are accountants - who should
I use to file taxes this year? Normally do them myself, but had a number of life events this year - bought a house, had to sell investments to pay for it, etc.

I know a guy. He's charged with fraud but I'm pretty sure he didn't do it.

Just use turbo tax. I'm a CPA but I still use TurboTax. My former tax attorney also used TurboTax. I'm not in tax so I don't know anything about taxes but people start asking me tax questions as soon as I say I'm a CPA.

@TheSuitBurnsBetter you made the Atlantic.

My wife told me about this. I hope there were other reasons.

I'm a CPA and found it easier to just hire a tax CPA to do mine.
What is your specialty?

I do financial reporting, automation of processes (aka cutting staff), writing reports using sql + excel, working with databases, etc. I guess you can call it IT Accounting or something like that.

NO TAX!
