I took a Red Line train between Woodley Park and Bethesda last Thursday afternoon. My train had fewer than 10 passengers, so it was easy to stay 6 feet apart.

Any thoughts on "luxury" pens? I've run out of my pre-covid supply at my apartment and starting to consider buying some high quality pen (hopefully something I remember not to lose). I'm thinking max $25 which isn't luxury per se but certainly not your typical corner store purchase. I'm literally penless right now so I guess a cheap purchase is in the offing tomorrow to tide me over. Would appreciate any suggestions or purchase guides especially since I may have to purchase online (i'm considering farhney's downtown if I do stop in somewhere). I am open to fountain pens although I do not have experience with them.
$25 is pretty low for a "luxury pen." If you can spring for a bit more, I'd go with a Waterman Expert, one of these https://www.amazon.com/Waterman-Expert-Ballpoint-Chrome-Cartridge/dp/B002C2IF1K/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3O6SXRJEZXN3L&dchild=1&keywords=waterman+expert+ballpoint+pen&qid=1594141819&s=office-products&sprefix=waterman+exper,office-products,185&sr=1-1

I have a few of them in ballpoint and rollerball and they are fantastic pens

I can't edit my post about luxury pens for some reason but it was for my father-in-law who retired after working as a nuclear engineer for 30+ years. His company did give him a nice watch but I don't recall it being a Rolex or anything made of gold. He worked at the same company his entire life and it scares him whenever I switch jobs every 4 to 6 years. Anyways, we got him the Mont Blanc Meisterstuck.

As I wrote this, I started wondering if kids nowadays can even read or write cursive? When I first came to this country, my 6th grader teacher decided that I should start my life in the US by learning cursive for some odd reason. I write in cursive to this day.

I'm totally pulling this out of ******, but my guess is that cursive was only useful when lifting your quill or whatever on and off the paper wasted a lot of ink. Now it's just a way to make your handwriting harder to read.
