I'm actually still on the fence with my 3m of fabric. Kind of want to have it made up but kind of reluctant as well.

Also, I don't understand the idea behind the "casual summer jacket." Even if it's linen, it's still going to be hotter than not wearing the jacket.

I think there are some places where a jacket can be useful in the evenings, even in the summer. Not DC, and not St. Louis, where I lived previously, but if you were somewhere that got into the 50s/low 60s in the evenings I could see owning something like this.

Sometimes I forget that people live in other places that have different climates. I lived in Vegas for a bit 10 years ago and the nights even in summer could get surprisingly cool.

I went to downtown Bethesda today to have my iPhone checked out at the Apple Genius Bar. Bethesda has created a "streetary" by blocking off a restaurant-intensive block of Woodmont for what appears to be indefinitely rather than just the weekend. Would like to see that all over DC.

Businesses in DC routinely overestimate how reliant they are on vehicle traffic and street parking so they always fight attempts to reduce both.

I cycled up there yesterday and met my son for an outside lunch at Fish Taco! I would also like to see more streets permanently closed to cars. Outside eating is basically all there is for the time being.

I thought you were giving up on being Luca Rubinacci to become Rick Steves?

I think someone in B&S is selling a big length of the DWW summer tweed.
Cute, I have no plans on having another jacket made in the foreseeable future. Cloth will go to storage ?.

Anyone going to the Mall for the fireworks? :hide:
Debating on watching from the Iwo Jima memorial in Arlington. We can walk there. Might just give it all a miss. The Sun Belt is a huge eye-opener for letting our guard down too early.
