If you have to spend a holiday working, might as well be comfy.

I saw enough tweed to last a life time when working in the tailors.

I haven't had a tweed jacket for many years due to this, but I always appreciate a well cut jacket like above. Very nice.

Any particular reason why?

The pricing is a bit rough for Fiola Mare, for my taste.

They're putting themselves in the range of Jont, without the stars to back it up. Don't get me wrong....FM is absolutely lovely. But they're a little big for their britches for that event. Maybe Fabio is trying to bring in some extra income after losing his restaurant in his hometown of all places. /shrug

On the other end of the spectrum, my friend Julia is going to have to close her distillery's doors. Bo & Ivy is selling bottles (cocktail bar is closed to accommodate) tomorrow from 5. She's a wizard with gins, and I'll be there picking up a backpack's worth.

I found fiola mare overpriced & overrated. But nice ambiance, which is what you’re paying for.

I don't disagree with any of that at all.

Bresca is probably the best value in town as far as Michelin-rated spots go.

For Italian, my Italian friends always liked San Lorenzo. They absolutely refuse to go to Filomena with me haha.

Centrolina is a go to as well.

For pizza, 2 Amy’s is the gold standard in DC.

I always wanted to go to Del mare.
