You win! Sadly, I lied, there is no prize.

Are weird-looking loafers a DC guy thing now? I feel like it used to be tan Cole Haan wingtips but maybe the tides are shifting?
We can do tailoring issues with most of the suits in the back row, but yeah, the shoes. Are those horsebit loafers on the guy trying too hard with the three piece suit with "special" buttonholes and fun socks? And, I'm okay with tassel loafers (I have a pair of Aldens in hunter green suede), but with a suit? They're fine with odd trousers, especially the further down you dress them. And, the double monks with a suit. I guess it's better than all of the plastic square toe shoes out there. I guess the silver lining is these are all dressier than those.

I see more Ecco or other plasticy loafers (if you can call them that) with some kind of elastic near the top than most other shoes. The only people I see consistently in real shoes seem to be Senators.

I only find it so worthwhile to pick at the sartorial choices of non-clothing-enthusiasts. Most people just don't care that much.

The non-clothing-enthusiasts don't interest me. What interests me is the guys who are clearly "into" clothes but express that by wearing ludicrously tacky things. Examples: pocket squares that come as a set with the tie, statement belts, etc.

Tassel loafers aren't inherently tacky (I've very recently concluded).

IDK, I think those are people who aren't that into clothes. They realize that some clothes look better than others and want to wear the better looking clothes, but don't really put much research into it. It's kind of like someone who realizes that they want nice looking rooms in their homes, but doesn't spend hundreds of hours researching interior design. They see some things that look neat to them in a magazine or on Instagram and then go with it. I am not sure that we should fault such a person or make fun of him. We all have to choose how to spend our time; most of us will not choose to spend it researching clothing.

I definitely see the truth in this. However, allow me to play devil's advocate for a moment. I don't care about cars. We needed to buy one but it's not something I spend any time thinking about. If I put spinning rims and fire decals on my c-max hybrid, I would get absolutely roasted by car enthusiasts, and rightfully so!

I've learned through research that quality pieces regardless of the field usually cost an arm and a leg. Most people have better things to spend their money on.

New flannel Teba jackets look amazing. Also, amazingly expensive.

Different material but same designer here, better price.

I don’t find the price for these objectionable. It's less than you’d pay for a high end sport coat and basically the same thing, right?

Yeah, I guess so. Does seem like more of a sweater than a jacket, though. Fox Bros. is always fantastic. I ordered the brown houndstooth scarf. Loved the color and fabric.

Couldn’t resist this one. I love houndstooth. £20 shipping is acceptable.

See that price for a scarf is far more egregious to me than the price they want for the teba jacket.

Seems normal to me but then it would as I bought it! You’re right and the Teba’s are reasonable I suppose. Kind of wish I had a gap that could fill but I don’t need one.
