Sure is. It will ne nice to get a day above freezing at some point in the future.

Bright side; Plenty of opportunities to wear heavy outerwear though! NMAW Project Raglan, KS Traveler and NR Bumfreezer getting a lot of good use.

Edited to add, plenty of knitwear opportunities too

Yeah! Flannel and heavy stuff earning their paycheck this week.

Thanks! Had a great meal at Le Diplomate last night.

Out of curiosity are any of those on the Wharf? I'm still suspicious of the restaurants there.
Del Mar is on the Wharf. Moon Rabbit used to be on the Wharf but moved to Penn Quarter (and is very very good)
But yeah most of the restaurants there are overpriced and pretty meh but I like the subs at Grazie Grazie.

Apologies if this is covered earlier in the thread, but does anyone have recommendations for DC tailors for alterations and a dry cleaner you'd trust with a suit?

I'm one of the last people to invite "the man" into daily activities, but tonight was a deal-breaker for me.

Neighbor was an ignorant moron who got new sheltie puppies because they're just so got-dang cute and then never trained them. At all. Not even with simple at-home stuff. So they defecated all over her floors, chewed up baseboards, and--most importantly--barked. At everything. Including the literal got-dang WIND.

Anywho, she finally moved out several weeks ago. House empty with a for-sale sign, contractors in and out to paint/new baseboards/new floors/et cetera.

House is still empty. Except one thing, today she was there with one of the contractors (I know this intimately because the jackwagon nearly hit the Bonneville trying to share a parking space with it because he was too lazy to walk an extra 10 feet--I educated him on how a gentleman would handle such a conundrum in the future) having a rather loud conversation. The dogs were present, barking as ever.

She and sir contracticus departed around.....3pm?

Dogs are still in the (extremely empty) house. No idea if they have any food, water, ability to go outdoors to relieve themselves (though since it didn't bother her for 4+ years living in the house daily I suppose it would bother her less now), the works. Barking nearly non-stop since 3. It's now 9pm. 6 hours of borkage.

Left voicemails for the realtor, then called in animal control. Spose they'll knock the door down.

@armedferret , holy ****!

//

Two things gents.

1) Sartoria Pastena is visiting DC 1-3 March. Plenty of spots left on all three days. Sign up link below.

2) I am planning on late morning Sunday appointment, going to throw out a lunchtime meetup near hotel (I have no clue on a venue) if there’s anyone who wants to come out for lunch/brunch, or an afternoon beverage. (Doesn't matter if you’re ordering from Pastena or not)

Note, #2 does not replace a possible evening meetup in Feb or March to eat at one of Washingtonian’s top 100.

This gets covered almost weekly! I’ve been going here for 15 years now. They do great work.

+1 for Geoffrey Lewis.
Ezra Paul, aside from MTM tailoring, also does great alterations.
For dry cleaning, I like Swift Cleaners in Dupont Circle.

Update: AACOPD arrived. Knocked. Dogs barked their ******* faces off.

AACOPD left.

So, business as usual for one of the SEVEN LEAs in the entire country the USSS refuses to associate with in any way shape or form (according to a good friend who retired after being on presidential personal detail with Clinton, GWB, Obama, and Trump's first term). How bad do you have to be for the Secret Service to just say "you know what.....nah"?

Anywho. two and a half weeks til Venice. spose I should at least check to make sure my costume is all packed.
