I will be there regardless of location as long as metro accessible. Obviously my preference is downtown DC or on the eastern side of the red line but that's pure selfishness on my part.
Okay, quick poll. Is Bethesda doable for folks or would DC proper be easier? Silence is consent.

Had my first anniversary dinner at Fiolo Mare on Saturday night.

We decided on some less formal attire as it was cold, but still smart enough to get away with it.

Food was delicious.

Wanted to pass along some very exciting news. Old House Provisions is having its launch party on December 14.
There's been a lot of discussion about OHP on the thread before. The owner, Drew Altizer, is a bespoke shoemaker but the store also stocks RTW from Ring Jacket and some others. I've been dreaming of a pair of bespoke lazymans ever since seeing @armedferret 's.

Man, Parkway cleaners is amazing. They expertly shortened the sleeves on a Barbour jacket, repaired a broken zipper on another jacket, and thoroughly cleaned and repaired a vintage wool blanket. Free delivery back to Arlington as well.

Regardless of your point of view on this, I think the following statement is inarguable:

“You choose clothes because you dress to be seen, and to be seen is what it means to dress well,” he said. “The motivation of putting on a nice outfit is lower when you transport yourself in one box to go to your office and you go back to your car and go back home.”

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
