1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Is there any risk of trying to negotiate an eBay item, purchasing outside of eBay, ask for a lower price to avoid eBay fees? I'd use PP, get an invoice from the seller. Wondering if he'll accept a lower price to save $200 in eBay fees. Not sure what the risks are, in terms of buyer/seller protections between PP alone and eBay + PP.

It's common these days because of eBay extortion fees. If you're asking about a Rake tuxedo you bought today, that was from me

Afterall eBay only brings together buyer and seller. PayPal offers the protection and fucks the seller. Can't think of a reason not to make transaction outside of eBay

Would ebay get mad at you for doing that? I just did a sale where the buyer didn't want to pay customs from ebay's global shipping program, so I told him through e-mail, cuz I was paranoid ebay would read my messages, that I'd do the transaction through paypal and mark it down.

Ebay can ban you for making deals outside of ebay.

This is like the #1 thing ebay looks out for, as it directly effects their bottom line

If you want them to contact you, type your email in paint or something similar and attach it to the message.
