I even asked him how it works because I have no idea. He could have simply replied back and said 'no thanks'

Anyways, I have nothing against the guy and he has helped in the past. Just pointing it out.

Also, it seems like he is the second person to ignore my cosign inquiry, one being the guy GDL recommends on this forum.

Weird. Must have to meet in person?

I realize after Moo's post I am not using cosign in the right context, or you guys misunderstanding me.

A guy from re-porter (it may have been Graham, I cant remember off the top of my head) contacted me about co(n)signing pieces I posted in a for-sale thread. I declined, but he seemed like a good guy.

    Somebody please.
Also, stupid question I know, but how do consignment shops work? What's the system/benefit of consigning your stuff?

More visibility for your item if there is a storefront/e-shop. Also, they might even have a specific buyer lined up for you.

This, the aforementioned customer service, and the pictures. The photography a lot of these shops do is much better than indoor photos taken with an iPhone for the most part.

So you take a certain percentage of the money and they take some too? How is it usually split?

re-porter is a great site. Very nice inventory from some of the coolest brands, good prices and Graham is the nicest dude. Extremely helpful.

I don't know if online consignment takes a smaller cut because they have less overhead, but I've never seen a brick and mortar that gives you more than 50% of the sale price. For example, STA in New York takes 60%.
