1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

You completely missed the joke, but whatever, that's sorta funny too.

On the subject of shoes - the leather on the Common Projects Tournaments is soooooo thin. I was just walking down the street, and they ripped at the side, where the sole and the upper meets. Faaaack. Nearly as bad as Pierre Hardy's, which are really only good for activities like sitting, which don't require you to stand up or otherwise move your feet.

Guess I've been lucky with mine (the white version from 3 seasons ago? I dunno).

Got the joke, just went in a different direction. Felt it was getting beaten to death.

Is that issue only with the more recent CPs?

The premium achilles I bought last year from Parker have taken a real beating, have held up well

My achilles italian army edition from like 2007-2008 are still going strong and they've been through hell.

I think its just with the tournament ones. I recall some people complaining about the leather and suede ripping.

I bought some summer Achilles last year and after being through hell and back finally got a small hole

This is the first pair with which I've had any issues, and I have about 24 pairs of CPs, in one form or another, including earlier Tournaments. These ones just had very soft, but also ridiculously thin, leather. Paper thin, really. The summer non-Achilles are usually thinner leather, but I think that they must have just gone a bit too far with this style.

Meh, these days, I'm liking Buttero more anyway. They are less expensive, fit my look a bit better (they are more "rough"), and are full grain leather, which is thick and durable.

Butteros look like they have identical soles as CPs. Would love to know where/if resoling my CPs is possible.

I assumed it would go close to 3 bills, but I was bummed to see it at $80 last night and the current price upon waking this morning.
