they run big. I'm a 43 in just about everything (Margiela too) but a 42 in the side zips. not a big fan of that gold sole...

Pretty sure that's the normal sole... looks the same as the one on my regular MMM side zips. Maybe it just looks bigger/thicker because of the contrasting color? Even then it doesn't look to be a chunky sole by any means.

Slightly larger than Gats. If it helps I wear a 41 in both MMM side zips and in CPs

Edit: there's also plenty of sizes left in the camel version - http://www.ssense.com/men/product/maison_martin_margiela/leather_camel_boots/45580

the mmm's description says a 100%wooden sole, I think alot of people are put off by that

and the leather doesnt look that great to me

if you take off the label, it looks like an average side zip

Instead of paying $450, I would pay ~$550 and get the real deal. One example, plenty of others out there if you do a bit of research.

Alternatively, if you can't afford handmade shoes just go ebay uk for paul smith zip boots.

Actually the best value for money right now in terms of boots is vintage cowboy boots on ebay. Some of those are amazing for like $20.

yeah, you can... but its not easy. There aren't that many brands that make good side-zips. S2A makes some, but while they're decent they're definitely not as nice as MMM. NDC has a couple models but they aren't always the easiest to find (especially in your size + on sale).
