    passed on that one too. instead picked up the gray neil barret suit for $360 i think. Piombo makes some decent menswear

    I bought that Piombo suit the last time the Corner had a sale. Great deal. Unlined wool herringbone. Nice, basic "Italian" cut with slim pants. Sizing is typical US = IT conversion. so 38 = 48, 40 = 50, etc. Jacket length is more like a US "regular".

    I feel the blue sole would limit the stuff you could pair with them. Black trousers would be out, navy would be out (too much blue!). Khaki would look weird. So you're left with salmon red and olive and other things my stunted imagination hasn't thought of yet.

    But the limitations could be a good thing! Imagine the one pair of boots that would force you to fish your salmon trousers (HA GET IT) from the darkest corners of your closet and wear them outside.

    I'd wear them mostly with jeans. I actually did nearly exactly that color combo for a pair of trickers MTO chukkas. My entire pallette are greys, blacks, and blues, eith occasional browns and burgundies thrown in, and several "black" things, but my main concern is whether they are too close to what I already have.
