Hasn't ever failed me but ok...let's tear down sq's chart of measurements too !
Well his chart is just sole length so yeah that's basically useless. I mean at least with sneakers you can figure out more or less how they're shaped and sizing is generally a bit more forgiving. Trying to decide on the instep and toebox volume on that boot is asking for trouble. "Narrow 43" is more informative than L x W, imo.

Never understood why ppl measure the outsole instead of the insole also.

Kinda hard to measure unless you physically remove the insole, which is a pain.

Measuring outsoles is pretty useless. Toe box shape, thickness of the outer, thickness of the insole, width of the last, shape of the last - all contribute to fit and can significantly change the fit on similar length shoes.

Never had a problem without removing the insoles. Just use a metal tape measure so it stays straight and voilà . It'll still be approximate but way more accurate than the outsole.

at least with a measurement i get a sense of dimensions while looking at the pics, that helps. also measuring insole in much more useful if it can be done then you can compare directly...

    Those kelvstro's may be impersonating.

Neither mine nor RFX's of the same model have a raf simons box logo on the tongue.

i dunno, some shoes fit large/long and measurements of outsole reflect this. here're pics of a pair of uk7 santoni boots i recently sold placed side by side w/ a pair of cp40. they're significantly longer than a typical pair of uk7/us8 shoes and i would definitely not have kopped them in the first place if i had been given the outsole measurements...
