Maybe it's just the grass being greener, but with my current, non-belted raglan, I find I really wish I had one. Buttoned up (a necessity in real winter) I feel like I end up with a very 'Leon the Professional' silhouette, straight down from the shoulders. It also means there's a somewhat excessive amount of air space inside; I feel like it could be warmer and more practical with a belt to cinch things down.
I totally understand, that's why I now have a 3rd incoming raglan! It's nice to be able to switch it up and have raglans for different temperatures and with different silhouettes.

I have a belted raglan that's roomy, and I do feel like the belt cinches things in and creates a pocket of warmth. I haven't tested it without a belt though.

Visited the sample sale today. Stock was really good - better than the summer one. Some pics. Just picked up a few accessories - nothing crazy. May go back Sunday.

On the topic of alternatives, I am considering for the future to commission a raglan coat through Husbands in Paris. They have a similar dramatic silhouette and big pleat in the back, and offer an MTO program.

That is a beautiful coat. I especially love that big pleat in the back. Makes an otherwise staid coat more dramatic (in a good way).

I agree! I think it would look great in a grey donegal like the one Simon Crompton used for his coat this season.

Did you happen to catch if they have the grey check raglan in 38?

They did have the grey check raglan in 38 (I tried it on but ended up going with the plain grey).

Unfortunately didn't take a close look at the suits - there weren't that many in stock (generally sportcoats vs. suits). I would guess in the ~$800-1000 range given how everything else was priced?

I'm in NYC where is this sale? The floor doesn't look like the Canal street showroom!
