Hello, wanted to know your thoughts about this. This is the games suit in green cord from last season, but I think they still have for sale on website. I am wondering if I should have sized up. Mainly referring to body width/overall look. I know the jacket is short, this is how games jacket are designed, and are not supposed to replace a more classical suit. I am a tall guy and bought it consciously :) Many thanks !

Had the opportunity to attend a local shop's fall trunk show, with Drakes in attendance.

While they admitted much of their F/W stock is still on its way in shipping, they had a decent amount.

Suede jackets, MTM shirting, a few pairs of shoes etc.

The Bond Shoe is very cool, grabbed a few pocket squares (I am still a sucker for those) and the grey/black herringbone A-line topcoat (apparently last year's model) tempted me. I also tried on the "new 2021" sport coat fit, and it is great, nice soft shoulder, great lapel, nice fit overall.

The highlight (for me at least) was their new lighter OCBD, using a lightweight, slightly slubby, oxford cloth, i actually thought is was a cotton linen blend left over from summer. Grabbed a blue, and an ecru... cant wait to get hem washed and into the shirt rotation.
Can you elaborate on the grey herringbone coat? Was it just a leftover size or are they going to restock it?

Agree on all of the above. Get the pants hemmed, and enjoy it.

It was this coat,

Confident it was a leftover, as the rep said this year's outerwear had not yet made it into to the US.

I do not think this fabric will be restocked. But this piece is close:

Hi all - I'm new to the forum and would really appreciate the insights of this group. Various of the Drake's suits have caught my eye and I am considering making a purchase, but I am not near a store and therefore can't try anything on. I see that my size (40) has a back length of 29.9, which strikes me as quite long. I am 5'10 and about 165 lbs. My concern is that I will be drowning in fabric, particularly given the prevailing trend toward shorter jackets.

Does anyone have any insights into the length of these jackets? I appreciate that everyone has different proportions and it's difficult to speak in generalities, but I'd certainly welcome any thoughts from this crowd about the length of these jackets. Thanks!

30” +/- a half inch is quite normal length for a regular height person in the 48-52 ish size.

For reference, I’m slightly stockier than you and 5’9”. I wear a 52, 30 inch length is classic length for me.

I don't own any Drake's sport coats or suits, but everything that I've seen from them online (on real people and not models) is just on the border between too short and traditional. I wouldn't describe them as too short, but they are right at that border where if they were shorter, I think they would look unflattering.
