yea I bought it yesterday with the casentino gilet.
It’s very much a straight fit hence the belt. I won’t use the belt and would have preferred an internal waist cinch but oh well

I don’t necessarily think it’s an upgrade over Barbour but I do prefer the fit of this and like how the gilet/liner look underneath it
To me it looks fantastic with flannel suits

What size did you get in the gilet and stable jacket?

Does anyone have experience washing any of Drakes cotton suits?

I remember reading Michael Hill say somewhere that you could put them through a delicate wash and tumble dry cycle. I lost some weight and wouldn't mind my 44 jackets going down to a 42 - these are mostly suits I've picked up at the sample sales over the years, so I'm OK with a potential disaster, but would love to try and mitigate that as much as possible.

My only pick up from the sale. Black knit tie with red and yellow stripes. This is my first knit tie from Drake's in a long time and they are not as crunchy or thick as the older ones I have.

This model is made in Italy while the solid ones (or with spots) are made in Germany. The latter are the crunchy ones.

I actually only picked up a knit tie during this sale as well; I'm happy with mine. I got the Aime Leon Dore one.

I haven't yet but I'd check with Drake's themselves and go with their advice.

Please let us know how you go.

Size 40 in the casentino pull over is back on the us website.
fwiw I went with a 38 in the casentino gilet, liner and pull over and typically wear a 40 in all their tailoring.

How do Drake's dress shirts stack up against other reputable brands? Curious, 'cus there's a store close to my office that sells these.

I am not exactly sure how to answer this. What reputable brands are you looking to compare to Drakes?

Drakes makes a quality shirt, Made in England if that matters to you, with a very specific style, including very soft collar/cuff interlinings. The button downs (IMHO) offer the best roll on the market, but you definitely pay a premium.

If you have a place local to check them out, I suggest taking a look, and trying a few on to see if they suit you. Seeing for yourself may answer many of your questions.
