Drakes peaked with the shawl cardigan. It has been steadily going downhill since the addition of the apostrophe in the name. There seem to be more ugly ties each season. Private label markup on everything else they sell with no value-added.

+1. The taste level of their silk ties has gone way down. A couple years ago I remember wanting literally every tie on their website. Now everything seems to be mind numbingly soporific or some garish seasonal design with no use in a sensible tie rotation.

Talk about First World Problems, their site is as slow as molasses at the moment, and crashed during checkout. Still, my email claims that the order went through, so fingers crossed that I did actually manage to order these:

http://www.drakes-london.com/online...lf-tip-36oz-printed-silk-foulard-8cm-tie-6328 - will be very useful in summer, and replace an old/fraying one.
http://www.drakes-london.com/printed-shappe-silk-8cm-tie - been meaning to try a large lozenge tie for a while
http://www.drakes-london.com/pure-cashmere-8cm-tie-6374 - like the first cream tie, this one will also replace an aging similar one
http://www.drakes-london.com/real-ancient-madder-bow-tie-5639 - couldn't resist!
http://www.drakes-london.com/elephant-print-wool-and-silk-pocket-square-5832 - been looking for a sky blue & red colour combo square for a while.

And I think that's all the new ties I'm going to buy this year!

Was a bloody zoo this morning. Mostly ties, scarves of various materials, weights, etc. Some knitwear and some shirts.

+1. Zillions of ties, $65 or 3 for $150! Knitwear was $95, no cashmere cardigans though. Didn't seem to be a lot of shirts, although they might have been picked over by the time I got there. Mostly larger sizes left like 17.5. I got there around 11:30 and it definitely was a zoo by then. A bunch of scarves, some throws, quite a few pocket squares from last summer's stock, no SCs unfortunately. Tie table was amazing, but complete chaos. Mostly 8cm, a few 7 and 9cm, no grenadines or boucles, a couple 7cm shantungs. Lots of great neats and prints though. Grabbed 6 ties and a sweater. I actually needed some good oranges and browns for fall, and I didn't own any Fairisle sweaters so it was a pretty successful trip for me anyway.

I am so goddamn envious right now that I am currently trying to figure a way to book a flight to nyc and call in sick at work tomorrow.
