Although Audrey Hepburn and the ladies get a pass. Looks fine on them when tastefully cut.

Who was it who said shopping at Drake's is a mindless process as every item is awesome?

There is nothing wrong with Fleece. Just not very #menswear, it’s very #hiking.

Back to Drake's basics. Michael Drake started his business with scarves. For your archives, here is the only Drake's item in my possession, a scarf i have for more than 30 years (TBH i lost the count, might be more). Made in Scotland, very good quality, i often washed it and it's still going strong. You will notice the old logo.

Not mine. I don't think I have any Hill & Drake ties, but you see them all the time on eBay.

Hill & Drake was the predecessor to Drake's, even the scarf period I think. It was started by Michael Drake and Charles Hill. Hill was in the tie business at the time (1980s) and Michael wanted start an accessories company. Charles Hill is also Michael Hill's father, which is how Michael (Hill) became a designer and Creative Director for the company, and then eventually co-owner.

Anyway, Hill & Drake transformed into just Drake's when Charles decided to leave the businesses. But Michael Drake carried on with scarves, ties, and other accessories. I believe that's where your scarf is from -- the Drake's period. When Michael Hill and Mark Cho took over the company many, many years later, they've expanded it well past accessories.

    Interesting.
The scarf was a present from my father around mid 80s, i don't know where he bought it, but it was probably either Arnys, Hollington, or an Irish shop Boulevard Saint Germain, i've forgotten the name (and the shop is gone for a long time)… As it was the only shops where he used to go (with Church's for his shoes).

Was looking through the ralph lauren f/w 2019 look book and noticed they're also doing cord suits in the exact mustard yellow, navy, and dusty brown colors drake's did last year.
