Just a quick question: were there jackets that came with a lettered size (s,m,l), instead of a numbered one?

I was trying the raw 19cms at the NYC boutique today and I liked them a lot. I was wondering though, they were priced at $430 and they were not selveged, but I see on browns website the $430 pair is selveged (assuming -20% vat) and the 'brut' jeans on lvr are $4xx too (not sure if selveged or not).
And I see that both lvr and browns have cheaper mij raws (non selvage) in the $330 range. So what did I try on? Or are they just marked up $100 at the boutique?
    I need an expert :)

The cheaper raws are Made in Italy ('Nostalgy'), not Japan ('Brut'). I thought that the only selvedge model was the silver selvedge and maybe one or two other limited edition pairs. So, two possibilities: 1. I'm wrong about the normal raws being selvedge or 2. Brown's description is wrong. I think it's the latter.

Ok that's starting to make sense, so basically if I wanted mij raws then $430 is the normal price. Selvage pair would be more?

I think so but I don't actually own a pair so can somebody else confirm that this is true?

Ya but there was no selvage edge, I guess it could still be selvage denim but do they even do that
Do the selvage pairs cost ~430?

Unless there's some other advantage to selvedge I'm not aware of, you're never going to cuff the things so who cares?

I feel the same way, I just want mij raws. I was just saying to preMMM0 that the pair I tried on definatley didnt have the selveged edge. Anyway I'll probably go back and get them, thanks

I have the 'silver selvedge' and I got them for ~$550 about a year and a half ago at Harrods. I'm not sure about the price of them now, seeing as all of Dior's jeans have gone up a fair bit since then. Also I'm pretty sure they are 17.5 cm only.

DH is not vanity sized, the top block is just supposed to be worn baggy and low on the hips...the two pairs I have left are 28 and 29 and I used to be a true 29 (now fat and 30....)

Honestly I've only tried on a few pairs but based on those experiences and the measurements I've seen I'd say it can vary. That said I don't really think they're vanity sized +2 very often.

Most people on the forums don't wear them that way. I always cringe a little when I see 'professionally hemmed to a 30" inseam' on Dior jeans on ebay [IMG].

Yeah, I realize, but even considering that I think that sizing can vary.
