This ^.

Maybe I have been extremely lucky, but I have owned many pairs of CPs since I bought my first pair in the mid 2000s. I have not noticed any change in quality or to quality control at all. I have not gotten a bad pair yet.
You also aren’t claiming that perfectly legit e-commerce sites are selling fakes, scrutinizing every stitch, posting false info about quality issues, do not clutter threads with bullshit, and are from the days when this place was.....well....you know ;)

I think the funny thing is that most of these things like scrutinising every stitch would be totally acceptable for other luxury products for example a Louis Vuitton but somehow one shouldn't do with a Common Projects. Make no mistake, this is a luxury product period so customers deserve to scrutinise IMO

Oh the irony!!

NOBODY buys LV and then goes home to review every stitch and detail to determine if it’s fake and then post about it on Internet forums to strangers.

NOBODY.

Le sigh....

you're creating a strawman there, please quote a person who said that scrutinizing every stitch was acceptable for other luxury goods like Louis Vuitton but one shouldn't do with common projects. You'll find that that person probably doesn't exist or are of extreme minority

Of course not because they buy it from a Louis Vuitton shop, unfortunately there are no CP stores

Go two pages behind where there was a member showing a clearly lack of quality on his CP with pictures. If you think that would ever be acceptable at Louis Vuitton you're probably delusional

You continue to argue against a non existent strawman because noone is saying 'you can complain about Louis Vuitton quality but you must not complain about CPs'

There ya go, apparently it's acceptable
yea but where's the part where he says that he cares about Louis Vuitton quality. Look I'm not trying to stop you from complaining about CP quality. Just pointing out that the person who says that its ok to complain about other luxury goods but not CPs doesn't exist.

Well, it feels personally that I'm the only one "attacking" common projects and everyone else is saying how great they are. Don't get me wrong, as I said, they are still for me the sneakers that look the best, but the quality is not great, but instead of having a good argument people are just saying it's acceptable.

The point I made is that I can bet you if this was a Louis Vuitton thread you wouldn't have people complaining about quality because they make sure that every bag is impeccable.

CP is quality but hardly luxury

Well, certainly commands a luxury price comparable to YSL, Gucci, etc.

But ok, I'll shut up for now, ultimately you guys want to just discuss the new models, etc. and I get that.

Just buy those "Greats" or whatever if you don't even trust one of the most legit retailers around. Me and my friends have bought probably 20+ pairs of Common Projects from Caliroots. They don't sell fakes.

cp's simply aren't made as well as they used to be

i think that's really all there is to it

and while better craftsmanship and materials are always nice, are people really buying into this brand for its "quality", anyway?

don't think i'm speaking for just myself when i say that the silhouettes/overall looks are 95%+ of the reasoning for purchase
This pretty much sums it up pretty well. I'd say regular Achilles lows are just fine. However, I've noticed that their older pairs, especially special editions and premium models are nicer quality. You can often tell it from leather alone.

Still my favorite sneaker brand. In my opinion the quality is "good enough". Get CPs if you appreciate the brand and its design. Obviously they're more expensive than less known sneaker brands. There's plenty of other minimalistic sneaker brands that are cheaper and you don't have to worry about fakes.
