^I was really hyped for that last SLP jacket you posted a pic of above, but if you look at the model fit pics on various web stores it doesn't look very good.

I actually like how the jacket fits on the model but just not the cut of the jacket itself and I agree that the sleeves are way too long. I understand the historical and practical reasons for it though.

I personally prefer shorter sleeves on leather jackets to show off a bit of sweater/knit sleeve, tattoos, jewelery or just the wrist and hand area in general, on both men and women. The way the jacket fits on Grace in my profile picture takes this to the extreme level but you get my point. Very unpopular opinion though in the leather jacket world.

I think it's very well done here. Dropped shoulder so the jacket doesn't seem small at all, but with a slightly shorter sleeve to show off the wrist and bracelet.

Here are some other examples on dudes.

But with only a t shirt wouldn’t these guys be showing a lot of wrist?

I visited the New Bond Street store today. Yeh it's pretty nice. I mean it's still a fairly imposing luxury atmosphere but it's nicely done. A few in-store exclusive items which is neat.

Mount Street store is closed which is a bit sad really. Bond Street definitely had more people in there just "shopping", less focused clientele.

Do you know why mount street is closed?

Not explicitly, but it just doesn't get the footfall that Bond Street does. It's out of the way and quite obscure. Also as it's historically a residential street the boutiques are not permitted to open Sundays, I believe.

Most Celine/slp zip leathers leathers fit that way on me due to my long wingspan. My two favorite celine pieces were the brown trucker in brown and the loose blouson in brown but both were way to short on me. I might try a real mccoys or fine creek leathers since I really want a cafe racer.

Oh ok, I gotcha. I went to both stores when I was last there and liked the neighborhood around mount street better, although the store at bond was infinitely better.

☹ I wish but I don't want the jacket looking like a crop top. All the café racers/zip up jackets fit like this trucker where they were way to short. The length is usually on most of these is 23in where I need 24.5 or 25in due to my long torso. The shoulders are great since they are usually 17in/17.5in and my pit to pit is around 20in. I wish they made the 70s studded blouson jacket just without the studs since that one fit me perfectly

I don't think that looks bad on you, although I can understand it being too cropped for your liking. Are you sagging your jeans in that pic at all, or are they where they naturally sit at, if that makes sense? This might just be one of the rare cases in which being tall is a drag.

I know at the time this photo came out everyone was drooling about it, but I don't think I like how this leather fits this guy. Teh contrived pose is kinda annoying as well. It looks too cropped, and the sleeves are too short for my liking. He looks like he might be really tall as well.

That's dave1 of Chromeo, I don't think he's posing, I'm guessing paparazzi took that picture haha. iirc he's somewhere around 6'1, so not super tall but definitely above average. i think the jacket looks fine, but the whole fit is a little off due to the low rise denim and his height

For me that's the kind of look that was making Saint Laurent feel boring and why I love Celine so much because it allowed Hedi to get away from that a bit (obviously I don't love the menswear so much recently though). Tan suede boots, ripped jeans, check shirt, leather biker jacket. I like all of those items but worn together just became a cliché. Throw in a 3 passant belt and that was the Instagram Saint Laurent uniform.

Not the denim at all since it sits where all my other denim sit. Here's my l01 and the fw14 jacket with the same jeans while the third pic is with the same jeans but studded blouson I tried on at the celine store. It wasn't just that trucker as most other leather blousons/zip ups fit the same way one me. The length of most of the celine leathers is around the 22/23inch range bar perfectos which my long torso doesn't gel with.

Yes, I agree that that's what makes the SLP look old hat. It's a look I've seen so many thousands of times that it has lost personality. It looks like anyone who goes to Topshop - I know this is a thing that's said often about Hedi's work, but since TDK I don't feel like the high street is there at all. Yes Hedi stuff is not mega conceptual fashion but it's got this essence that just makes it a seriously high cut above other clothing, and most high street doesn't even come close.

A controversial half-formed view, interested to see what people think: the only high street shop that gets close to the new Hedi Celine look is Urban Outfitters - that's UK Urban Outfitters I'm referring to. And for me, Hedi found his groove at Celine with Dancing Kid. The prior collections I found to be very dated and actually awkward... Sorry!
