Oh my god, we need more of these Amiri fits. I had no idea there were people out there buying this stuff.

To be clear, I kinda liked some of his latest runway shows the first time I looked at them--but the items I see showing up in stores are just the endless selection of hyper-distressed skin tight jeans and logo t-shirts and hoodies.

Edit: I just found this terrible article on how Amiri is moving away from skinny jeans, as if he's at the cutting edge of this trend. I quote from it https://www.gq.com/story/amiri-fw21-jeans-interview:

Also, if you go to google images and just type in "Amiri rapper" you get a ton of hideous fits. I bet if you type basketball player you might get a lot more.
I can almost fit both of my legs into one leg of his ‘skinny’ jeans so them referring to them as skin-tight is a stretch. Does anyone even make true skinny jeans anymore? I have two pair of FRAME Jagger skinny jeans and that’s the best I can find. Any runway show that features models of my size wearing jeans, they look perfect. In the shop, they’re nearly straight cut with a skinny label.

No matter what, we still won't buy Amiri.

Mike Amiri was the first view for every single one of our stories for years not realizing we saw him. We didn't know who he was and just assumed he was a fan until Amiri launched, then we followed him back and he immediately unfollowed us and never looked at the stories again.

Amiri to me looks like a poor mans Hedi Slimane which is funny because it often is sold at a higher price point. His stuff is over designed and tacky in my opinion the bandanna boots which are hugely popular are so ugly.

@Noiretblanc I like nudie jeans for a skinny fit I also really like how they have a wide range of sizing options good for someone like me I have a hard time finding brands that do a 26 waist.

just get your jeans tailored, if you want perfectly fitting jeans. I'd say the only truly skinny jeans I found that fit me when I was rail thin was nudie, but they're pretty stretchy and I hate stretchy jeans.

Saint Laurent still sells skinny jeans often in very small sizes 26-28. Is that too obvious to utter. I got a fresh pair of black skinny denim last year and love them.

It is so bad it kind of reminds me of an ironic t-shirt I saw recently on MrPorter, something such as "I survived Kmart" that's the idea I get from those massacres.

You know what Celine needs for some of us, a simple size 42, XXS. Is that too much to ask? 44 always sells out so it's not as though they wouldn't move it, and it seems based on Instagram-uber-alles that 75%+ of the market is in East Asian anyway, so it'd work all too well.

One more quick thought while perusing Insta before the deluge of the day commences. I recall critics slamming Hedi for not changing, being moribund with his approach. This looks like change to me!

When Thorns isn't here to post Celine pics the thread devolves into chaos with Amiri pics.

I'll take Amiri pics any day over the pseudo-intellectual aspiring fashion writer tripe and endless pictures of awkward teenagers. He's probably somewhere else on the internet under a different handle obsessing, and claiming to be a long-time fan of something completely different.

as someone else alluded to, thorns has been spotted on a fragrance forum, still very much a fan of long-form answers. at least we know he's safe and well i guess, even if he's left here for now. fair chance he'll be back when the next season is shown i reckon
