It is no coincidence that Hedi used the film, Je T'aime Moi Non Plus, when describing his inspiration for La Peau Nue.
I can still see...the wild and androgynous beauty of Jane Birkin and Joe Dallesandro in ‘Je T’Aime Moi Non Plus

Cult icon Serge Gainsbourg wrote, directed, and scored this tale of doomed love between a lonely truck stop waitress (Jane Birkin) and a hunky garbage truck driver (Joe Dallesandro), whose boyfriend (Hugues Quester) becomes increasingly jealous of the two.

I was initially a little skeptical when I read that Hedi would wear all of the fragrances in the collection himself, but I had to ask for a sample to see for myself.
“I created Celine Haute Parfumerie with the intention to wear every single fragrance of the collection,” he says. “It is all quite personal.”
I can see a male with a sensitive disposition choosing La Peau Nue. Because it doesn't smell 100% feminine, it doesn't feel absolutely jarring for a man to wear it.

I can imagine Griffith, from Berserk, smelling like La Peau Nue.

Tweed jackets are what the consumers are gravitating towards for Celine. I don't see many girls rocking Celine leather jackets on RED.

Sexy shot. I quite like how the mirror acts like a normal mirror from the straight forward angle but has this black shade when seen from an angle.

The powdery drydown of La Peau Nue is so comforting. I would want to smell this while drifting to sleep. I feel like this is what sleeping beauty smells like.

2 of my favorite looks from Parade.

Loving the gaucho denim and wondering if it would work for me (might need a pair of cowboy boots and the leopard coat as well). Vaccarello did a more streamlined version for men last year but the Celine feels cooler and more effortless?

I was initially put off by the 70s/80s makeup vibe (think loose lips by Byredo and lipstick rose from FM) but there's something very warm and comforting about the dry down. One of my favorites from the line

Yes, wearing La Peau Nue today and it's blending perfect with a softer, Kim Jones Dior look I'm wearing.

Bonus question, which western shirt do you prefer, the one by HV (Hedi/Helmut Vaccarello) or by HS chez Celine:

Celine. Don’t like the dark buttons on the other one and the lighter color is harder to wear with dark outerwear, IMO.

I much prefer the contrast of the mother of pearl (?) buttons against the denim, on the Celine one. The shiny black buttons on that chambray-esque looking SL one looks a bit funny to me.

After thorns brought up La Peau Nue earlier, I figured I'd give my sample I have a whirl today when nipping out to grab a coffee. "Warm and comforting" as said above is a good take. Wearing 'softer' looking 40mm cigaro jodhpurs - earlier season/quite light coloured (perhaps too light for this outfit but I didn't want to switch them out again after putting them on) so wanted a softer fragrance to pair with, over something like Reptile. What fragrance in the collection could be considered a Reptile-lite?

Still loving the loose blouson, too.

Good call, yes, always prefer MOP too, although the black seems somehow more 80s to me.

Yes, I really like the look of the loose blouson there and the ring!

I prefer the Celine mostly because of the wash. I got a version of it before the lockdown but haven't worn it lol The material could make the difference too and it seems like the SLP version may be thinner?

I feel like the darker shade from Celine pairs nicer with a black blazer. The Saint Laurent one feels a touch too white.

Or shown by @SaintLaurent here with a biker jacket

However I am biased towards this ss13's styling of pairing black with washed blue denim shirt.

Hedi has gone lighter, but I'm not sure it was that light
