Its just a bit frustrating that they dont have a lot more POS for people to sample them, and I have to go to NYC to be able to check them out.
Yeah they're surprisingly exclusive for their goal of making as much money as possible. I know Dior has their exclusive line in other department stores, but I can also see how Hedi is 100% positioning the Celine line a step above Dior's. He even opened a standalone fragrance shop close to Guerlain on rue Saint-Honoré.

Yes, it is interesting how closed-off they are about fragrance samples. I'm obviously a good customer of Celine's and Hedi's through the years, and had about 8 fragrances a while back and was curious about a couple others. I asked if I could specify the two other samples in the latest cologne I bought (they always give two free samples with each order of a fragrance), and they're like, "sorry, no." Okay! (I have about 4 million black tie samples if anyone every needs one.)

The grey denim are from SS14 and fit like Fw13 denim really tight. I returned my pair I got from therealreal since they were too tight. I wish Celine fragrances were available in other stores so I could get cash back or giftcards from the larger department stores. When it comes to frags in the summer I use xerjoff nio renaissance and uden. They are great since they last much longer unlike other summer frags

Hmm I gotta keep an eye out on the real real for those. Hopefully one pops up in my size or a size up. Yea Xerjoff excels at citrus fragrances. I recently picked up Fiero, that green bottle is stunning. Another really long lasting citrus offering from them is Aubres.

Ha, you would think they would want you to check other ones out to spur additional sales. Perhaps they only had Black tie on hand.

Would you be open to selling one to me so I can sample it?

What is the difference between the L01 and L17 from Saint Laurent and which one do you prefer?

Neat monochrome items. I can envision them working very well in London, Beverly Hills, or the SoHo outpost in NYC in my limited purview. Wearing nightclubbing today with a Saint Laurent ensemble. Really enjoy how it complements so many of my pieces, especially weekend wear. View attachment 1590062
How’s the sizing on the leather trucker? Been wanting one of those

Very slim. I went TTS. Skinny arms and high arm holes. Nice useable pockets including in the interior.

L01

  • designed around ss13's modern minimalistic clean style (notice the omission of a belt)
  • straight clean lines
I imagine the style being the male version of women's ss13

L17
1618067112051.png

  • designed around fw13's luxe grunge style, more rugged, and casual than L01
  • more busy and less minimalistic with the flashy zippers and belt

Hedi
L01 - clean and dressy

L17 - more rugged than L01, but could be dressed up

Studless version of fw14 jacket - rugged and casual, works better with more informal looks, nothing too dressy

Hedi's personal leather jacket - larger pocket, and comes with belt, seems like it can be dressed up or down, not as clean as L01 but cleaner than L17

Hedi would've been wearing Reptile in all those pictures if it was created back then.

I am a much bigger fan of L17... also, I don't know from experience, but from what I understand the fit of the L01 varies a decent amount between seasons.

Thank you. L17 for sure is the one for me.

Seems like Celine is trying to be more aggressive in the States
1618090906981.png

This Celine look could totally resonate with North Americans, but it hasn't seemed to hit the same exposure as Hedi's Saint Laurent.

I'm kind of in between sizes, S/XS, what size should I got for in the L17?

Something about how Anthony's campaign shots are styled makes it look cheap. Hedi has enough sensitivity to walk that fine balance better.

Anthony is basically just riffing on Hedi's fw16 silhouette. I'm not a big fan of this silhouette where they pair tights/stockings with high heel shoes. I much prefer pairing it with high heel boots instead.
1618145625202.png

But one thing is for sure, Hedi wouldn't be asking for his models to spread their legs to take a shot of their crotch.
1618145758473.png

Based on Saint Laurent's continued success, I feel it would be unfair to not give Anthony credit for continuing with Hedi's narrative (I do wonder how his vision of Saint Laurent differs from Hedi's, but I haven't really done a serious comparison).
