Okay been putting this off, but here is some pictures of styles that I think look nice with loafers in general.

- I know that some SAs like to wear black loafers as their uniform shoe with cropped trousers. I think it looks good, feels classical but also down-to-earth relaxed. Great work option.

1606977780305.png

- It is a nice pairing for that 50s inspired look with a varsity jacket/perfecto and white/black socks. Feels very historically accurate to wear loafers with this look. It has a punk feeling to it.

1606977142970.png

- Loafers make perfect sense if you want to channel that Japanese high school uniform look. Very accurate as a cosplay.

1606977757548.png

- I'm not sure how to call this look, but it looks visually pleasing. Wearing cropped trousers, white socks, loafers, and oversized jacket in a casual look. This look feels like it is a person who likes vintage shopping and wanting to wear another era's clothing ironically. It doesn't feel North American. Maybe more British indie musicians?

1606977886987.png

1606978079789.png

1606978635474.png

- I don't know how to describe this look. Almost feels like they're wearing loafers because it is trendy. It feels like the loafers clash with the rest of the look, but it still looks pleasing. Feels the most modern.

- I will call this Dark Academia/edgy prep. Makes perfect sense why loafers would fit in perfectly with preppy outfits.

Loafers overall feel like a softer more down-to-earth and relaxed option across all looks. It is basically the male version of flats. I can see it completing certain looks because of how historically accurate it is to wear loafers for those looks. It also leans collegiate/sophisticated because of its prep/Ivy associations.

Personally I really like loafers on girls. It just looks so cute.

I can easily imagine myself wanting to wear loafers just to pair with a girl who likes wearing loafers, or for a work uniform. But other than that, I still feel a strong aversion towards wearing loafers for myself. I would personally wear low heel oxfords or derbies if I want to look a bit more sophisticated. It feels still more edgy than loafers, especially the Saint Laurent ones.

This is s good example of the 50s look for loafers. Just looks less contrived than some, like Alex Turner in the SL version

Is that definitely the drugstore last? Looks a lot pointier than the website pictures. Looks very nice. I'd probably go for the Derby version in that

Same style but Jacno last:

Degrees of differences only. Jacno, Camargue, and Drugstore all feel like siblings.

I'd assumed the drugstore was more like the Hedi 30 last but it's much closer to the Blake 30 last with a lower heel. Very nice. I'm tempted to order the Derby, and maybe even the Chelsea. The Derby seems expensive though.

Cheers. I should probably go and visit a store. The Chelsea looks nice but I prefer how the last looks on the Oxfords based on those pictures. I always prefer Derby though as they're just easier to wear casually.
