400 USD

I think I got lucky, as the price went up. I paid $350.

Went to the store to try on the flared blue jeans, I really like the washed cotton. But given my height, I really don’t think I could rock them. Ended up to pick up the stretch skinny black jeans. Comparing to those of SLP, they are slightly less skinny, but the feel of fabric is really good (not because of the tightness I think).

has anyone used italist - it's a platform that connects italian boutiques with USA customers, and is supposedly legit checked on both side. just wondering what people think about it.

cool - thank you for the italist comments. i guess i'm trying to figure out why i wouldn't purchase from italist rather than state side - the savings can be considerable (25-35% savings, all in)

Actually, prices in UK for Celine are way lower than NYC... and from what I understand Asia is much higher still... so you may be taking advantage of that.

I'm currently in the market for a nice leather jacket, and naturally I'm looking to Celine. I'm not at all knowledgable about quality, though, and was wondering if anyone on here could offer some guidance. Basically, I'm looking for a non-Double-rider, with a zipper on the front (as opposed to buttons, as in the trucker styled ones). I've noticed that Hedi seems to be using lamb skin on a lot of these, which I'm led to believe is inferior to calf. Also, he seems to be mostly using ribbed cuffs (is that the right phrase?), instead of zippers. Do you guys think it's a mistake to buy an expensive leather jacket in lamb and ribbed cuffs, or is this a silly way of looking at things? I've got three that I'm considering, the one I posted yesterday, and these two:

Anyone look at these in person, or just have thoughts in general?

I like the shirt collar leather blousons like that much more than bikers. I'm waiting for the right one in brown leather or suede though because black leather looks kind of harsh on me.

I don't see a problem with lambskin but it is finer and more delicate than calf. No problem with elastic cuffs and waistband either if you like the style. Most of the DH ones I like were the same. They won't wear out, but might pill a bit but that's no big deal.

The green one is really nice, i like the contrast between the leather and the cuff.
They are rather short, if you're tall that may be a thing to be aware of.

On Calf vs. Lamb: I have a friend whose father owns a small, high quality leather company here in germany and i've discussed this with him to quite some extend. In a nutshell it entirely depends on what you expect from your jacket. Calf is very thick and hard wearing, but not as breathable, while lamb is way softer, lighter and more breathable.
So if you want a beater jacket to wear everywhere without giving it another thought you should go for calf. Lamb is more delicate, but imho nicer to wear, especially in warmer weather. There is no quality difference so to say, it's like comparing a luxury saloon car to a luxury converible in this case.
