Agree 100%. Unfortunately it's a thing I'm guilty of. Something doesn't fit right, I got it off grailed so I try salvage it instead of accepting its not right. I own another double breasted Celine blazer which fits much better (attached for reference). I was lucky enough to try it on in store, so when I bought it I knew it'd fit. Unfortunately in the instance of the tournon jacket I had no frame of reference of if it would fit, and when it was a little off, I went into salvage mode.
Which jeans are these ones? Often jeans **** up the look of a blazer. Some just work with pants, but usually only SLP/Celine jeans work well with blazers from these brands because of the fabric/drape/fit. SLP skinnies do look better than nudie jeans or Levis, especially those with elastane, and come off closer to trousers because of dry denim.

I think with the length and bulk of the jacket the super slim pants aren’t ideal. Dylan black flares would work better imo.
Yeah, it's interesting because they're a pair of slim straight jeans but look almost skinny in the pics. For reference here's a pic from further away and zoomed in. I own a pair of flairs but Im always nervous about wearing them out. They feel very costume-y to me

Also just want to say thanks again to everyone who has supplied feedback (both positive and negative). Really appreciate the help and apologies for clogging up the thread with pics of me!

Yeah the black pair are Nudie Jeans Grim Tim (Slim straight fit with button fly). The blue jeans in the other pic with the black blazer are a pair of Levis 511s I believe (slim fit).

I still think that blazer is just one size too big in the shoulder for you!

Look again at the images you posted of the slp stuff. Notice where the shoulder seem hits the model - exactly where the shoulder meets the torso. Now look at the pics if you - the shoulder seem is too wide by comparison.

The slp style was often very high and tight and the blazers weren’t really designed to even close, most of that stuff is intended to be worn open (not at all a traditional menswear blazer style or cut).

Just my .02 cents but I think it’s too big on you for the style.

Just measured my other Celine blazer. You're correct. The shoulder on the tournon jacket is 44cm wide. My other Celine blazer is 41cm wide. So there's a 3cm (1.18 inch) difference... Poopy

The tournon blazer is meant to be slightly oversized so it follows. Recall the styling photos where models fit Celine sweaters underneath it.

I can also fit a sweater under my other blazer though, which is slimmer in the shoulder.

I suppose the ultimate question is:
Is it worth keeping? I feel like the general consensus is it's not quite right on me. If people are saying it's too big, then I don't really wanna argue by saying it's intended to be oversized. Ultimately I want to look good in it, and if people think I don't look good because length, shoulder width etc then there's probably no point in keeping it.

I could attempt to have the tailor reduce the width of the shoulder or shorten the jacket an inch to account for the issues, but chances are it'll be expensive, and there's no guarantee that afterwards it'll be perfect on me. And the tailoring will affect resale value.

So is it worth the tailoring attempt? Or do I just move on, put it up on grailed, and maybe wear it a little in the meantime?

Shoulders are incredibly difficult to alter and will cost a lot if the tailor even agrees to do it in the first place. The length can be offset by wearing flared or looser pants with a higher rise and not undoing your shirt as much.

Fwiw I think if you like it you should just wear it regardless of what random people on the internet tell you what looks good/bad
Wise words, but also easier said than done lol. Random people on the internet are the arbiters of truth and logic.

To be fair I agree with what people are saying. I suspect 90% of the people I encounter day to day won't care or notice shoulder divots etc. They'll see a patterned tweed jacket and either compliment me on it or tell me I look like a professor or whatever.

But personally I know I'll notice the flaws, and realistically I spend too much time looking on Pinterest and Celine lookbooks/runways etc, so I'm aware when ***** off. Ideally I want my clothing to fit as close to how Hedi styles it as I can. Ultimately I know I'll never get it looking perfect as I'm not Hedi Slimane tall and skinny (and also my hair and beard make me look like I'm not wearing Celine apparently lol).

Anyway, I think for now I'll wear it a few times and see how I feel. Tournon jacket is funky in terms of fit anyway. If you're not like 6ft tall the boxiness of the proportions just seems to suffocate you. I also think the fact that this is a woman's blazer has probably exaggerated that fact even more. I would've loved to have originally tried it on store in my correct size to see what the deal is.

As slpldr mentioned, it's a lesson in sometimes a purchase doesn't work out, and it's better to move on instead of trying to salvage. I could probably sink another $100 into alterations and it might get closer, but it still probably won't be perfect, and my ability to resell it will worsen, so probably best to quit while I'm ahead.

I know that there's a newer version of the jacket with a similar tweed but slightly different pattern that seems to be classic fit, instead of the boxy fit the tournon has. My other Celine blazer that I think fits me much better is also classic fit, so I'll keep an eye out for one online.

You can order from the retail full price, try it on and return.

Yeah... Not sure how I can help that lol. Could shave and cut my hair into a fringe or something I guess, but not really my style...
according to what you just posted (black jacket/blazer with light blue jeans, that's much much much better)
"the previous style, just isn't suited for you, at least for how you look now"

Are you referring to my hair in the black blazer pic? Yeah, my hair is usually around that length. Currently I need a haircut (truthfully I've needed a haircut for about 2-3 months now lol). If you're referring to the outfit itself as suiting my style better than the tweed, then totally appreciate the feedback!
