Last season was the transition year from sales to outlet. They opened a big outlet store last September near Paris (not sure of the month).

the outlet stores are a real source of cash for the brands. Rents are really cheap and they even can sell spécial série (items made just for the outlet)

Ok that makes sense. It seems to me that a ton of this stuff doesn't sell at retail, so the outlets is probably a good way of avoiding the stigma involved in discounting it heavily as a sale at the end of the season

If we're speaking of YSL - they seem very happy to keep the same styles up for 3 or 4 seasons in a row if not longer - so gives them a lot more time to sell through before sending to outlet. I definitely remember a private sale on ysl.com in July 2021 - not sure I remember anything in the winter - and looks as though nothing is happening this summer. For celine - the sale was published site wide after a private period each season, up until now - again, this year looks as though nothing is happening.

I could've sworn that ysl.com had a private sale last season, but that it didn't go public the way they used to. I think bottega and Gucci have never had sales, but I could be wrong about that.

They all used to have end of season sales. Gucci announced in 2015 that they would no longer have end of season sales and many slowly started to follow suit. You can still get pieces from these brands on sale through wholesale retail outlets such as department stores but they aren't online and generally offered to their best clients.

In a way it's better because they're not producing a bunch of items that aren't going to sell and will ultimately be destroyed or stripped of their labels and sold for a deep discount.

The fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters on earth and are starting to realize the true costs of mass producing pieces that will either need to be stored, shipped back or destroyed if there isn't sell through.

I was wrong, there is another french "urban music" video heavily sponsored, the song title being "Celine, Celine, Celine".
I don't know if this is an official endorsement. I wonder how a "dysfunctional bauhaus" (promising name) can live with this direction taken by the brand.

Idk man that sounds like a stretch.

In all seriousness the show name looks promising. Considering it's Hedi I'm assuming it's about the band and not the art movement.

Unfortunately it looks like we're still doing the oversized riders, but some of the other stuff was right up my alley.

A mix of cosmic cruiser and boy doll. Love the embellished jackets but impractical for my lifestyle. SS20 remains my personal favorite for men.

Somehow I feel like virtual films are more compelling for CELINE presentations vs live runway shows?

I thought I was in 2014 when looking at the background and the bottom half of certain looks since the boots look like the duckies. This collection seems like a mix of current celine at the top half and SS14 slp on the bottom half. Some of the looks were cool but I can already recreate them with my current wardrobe. Will be interested when items from this collection drop in store.

Thought it looked great, and had a feeling I'd like it from the name alone. The overall ambiance seems more wearable somehow and fits with my darker zeitgeist. We'll see how it translates into RTW. I didn't watch it live and somehow the site doesn't even seem to have the video, so I went to some low-res website that popped up on Google first "Luxferity" to see the images. One interesting thing that I had not seen before as well as "Portrait of a Musician: Jack White" - it's from 2021 but I'm reminded that HS's photography skills are so top notch and distinctive.
