I'm looking to pick up another fragrance and am stuck between Black Tie & Reptile...I usually am not a fan of sweeter scents but Black Tie is awesome & very pretty. Rimbaud wasn't bad, it seems very 'dandy.'

Personally I would go with Black Tie, its classic and can be worn anywhere. I finally picked up another bottle and wear it almost daily.

I have noticed that it’s really hard to sell Saint Laurent / Celine boots these days. I have a pair of black leather Jodhpurs that I only tried on once that I have been trying to let go of for a few weeks now at 50% of the retail price and they are still sitting. Seems like there’s hardly demand these days.

If anyone in here is interested - let me know :) they are size 41

True statement. I’ve had some black suede Wyatt’s size 41 in great shape, maybe used a total of five times on grailed for over a year at $470. I’ve only received lowball offers.

The Grailed meta just sucks as a seller. Put up a pair of trousers for 450 and the first message I got was "would you do 200 shipped?" Dude was on the other side of the planet as well.

That's just business as usually on grailed. I lowball every now and then but always send a binding offer. Its annoying when they send a message without even sending an offer. They always start off with "Friend" and get a ****** ass offer.

On vestiare, on the public comments for a lot of items you see people asking "what's your lowest price?" Why wouldn't you just offer them what you want to pay? These people need to bone up on their "The Art of the Deal".

I'm like you, on grailed I always send binding offers. I simply offer what I'm willing to pay, and then the ball is in the seller's court. Usually the seller accepts; I think a couple of times they've sent counteroffers. I only offer what I'm willing to pay.

As everyone in this thread is painfully aware of by now, there's little demand for classic Hedi Slimane items, with the possible exception of a few pieces here and there. On page 78 of "The Art of the Deal", the author calls this a "buyer's market", meaning that the buyer usually has the leverage. Back when his designs were hot, and you had multiple potential buyers for each item, the seller could more easily hold off selling. Nowadays it's more take what you can get or wait it out.

In addition to his designs not being very hyped at the moment, it seems like the market, both new and used, are flooded with similar items in addition to the ones he himself put out. The classic Chelsea boot would be a good example.

So, I don't envy sellers. If I were a seller, I would take advantage of the price drop feature. I feel like I'm always getting alerts for price drops on my favorites.

I think it depends if you are selling something that you bought for yourself/in your own personal taste vs. something you bought specifically to resell. Some items I list sell in hours and others take a few months.

I'm a lot harsher on my pricing for something I bought for myself and wore a lot that I now want to sell just because I didn't really plan on selling it in the first place and wasn't expecting a big return, if any.

There are still a good number of places to find great deals on Hedi era SLP, DH and Celine, so I'm always looking and usually buy a few items a month specifically to resell. I'm more strict with the pricing on these types of items and don't drop the price that frequently.

I also list items on 4 different platforms so that increases sales rates, however grailed is still my most popular platform.

I noticed a couple of weeks back, on my near daily perusal of the website, that the the classic short blazer seems to have been removed from the site, so even more happy I purchased it before this happened.

By extension, I noticed a lot of other blazers etc got removed. I wonder how this bodes for the whole 'keeping a classic/permanent collection around' line of thought.

It's definitely not looking too good at Celine for anything classic. Other than things like the cord varsity that sell very quickly, I doubt we'll be getting many classic items going forward.

I wonder if Peter Utz clearing his Instagram is something to do with reposting images of celebrities. He seems to still be working for the brand anyway.
